Esta dissertação tem por objetivo o estudo da Arquitetura bajeense, em corte temporal definido desde o declínio do ecletismo, até a extinção gradual dos padrões estéticos modernos. O período, identificado entre os anos de 1930 e 1970, igualmente coincide com a materialização de produto arquitetônico com autoria de profissionais locais e externos, os quais delineiam uma diversidade seqüencial e paralela de tendências estéticas verificadas no contexto urbano da cidade. Primeiramente, face às características da formação de Bagé, com forte vocação política e cultural, faz uma abordagem dos antecedentes que, certamente, contribuíram com a Arquitetura deste período. Em segundo lugar, compõe um quadro referencial teórico, bem como da contextualização históricoeconômica e do exercício profissional. Segue com a exposição de dados relativos às legislações vigentes e às questões de sítio e traçado, determinantes diretos da configuração dos exemplares. Por último, apreende, com base nos parâmetros anteriormente estabelecidos, o estudo de panoramas, delimitados em dois pares de décadas, e a partir dos profissionais mais importantes, através de alguns de seus trabalhos, em solo bajeense. Desta forma, o estudo permite, dentro do período proposto, a pontuação de particularidades qualitativas na paisagem urbana bajeense e a identificação do grau de engajamento da Arquitetura projetada e construída na cidade, no quadro regional, nacional e internacional, na medida que esta é relacionada com a produção arquitetônica e com a historiografia, nestas esferas. / The purpose of this work is to study the Architecture in Bagé, delimited since the eclecticism’s decay until the gradual extinction of the modern aesthetic standards. The period, identified between the 1930’s and the 1970’s, coincides with the materialization of the architectonic product, with local and other professional authors, who portray a sequential diversity and a parallel of aesthetic tendencies verified in the city’s urban context. Firstly, due to the features of Bagé’s building up, with an influent cultural and political vocation, it approaches the previous marks which, for sure, took part in the architecture of this period. Secondly, it composes a referring theory background, as well as the historic and economic contextualization, and professional work. Later, it offers the data exhibition related to the current laws and to the estate and design, that determine directly the configuration of the examples. Lastly, based on the previously established parameters, it apprehends the study of panoramas, delimited in two pairs of decades, and from the most important professionals on, through some of their works, in Bagé. This way, within the proposed period, the study allows the qualitative particularities in Bagé’s urban scenery and the identification of the level of engagement in the projected and built Architecture in the city, in the regional, national and international scenario, in proportion to what it is related to the architectonic production and historiography, in these spheres.
