Previous issue date: 2017-06-27 / Esta pesquisa interdisciplinar teve como objetivo conhecer os meandros da
atribuição do nome social aos alunos transgêneros da Universidade Federal do
Espírito Santo no campus de Goiabeiras. Desta forma, buscou-se entender como tem se dado a dinâmica administrativa de atribuição do nome social a partir da Resolução nº 23/2014 do Conselho Universitário, que garante o exercício do uso do nome social nos espaços desta Instituição de Ensino Superior IES. Buscou-se ainda, conhecer dos alunos dos cursos de graduação que se utilizam deste instituto jurídico, para entender como estes têm percebido o respeito a sua identidade de gênero nos espaços da UFES. Ancorados em suas narrativas, foi possível trazer à tona situações do cotidiano acadêmico relativas ao uso do nome social, até então não descortinadas nesta Instituição em nível de pesquisa acadêmica de mestrado.
Vale destacar que apesar do desejo de alargar a amostra de entrevistados,
pesquisando alunos de pós-graduação na UFES, isto não foi possível já que não
havia aluno com nome social averbado no banco de dados da Pró-Reitoria de
Pesquisa e Pós-Graduação. A pesquisa se caracterizou pela sua natureza
qualitativa, pois se preocupou com uma realidade que não pode ser quantificada já que responde a questões específicas. É uma pesquisa de cunho exploratório, já que a temática requereu contato com evento novo, daí justificamos a escolha de tal vertente uma vez que esta modalidade abriga pesquisas que fazem uma primeira aproximação de estudos inéditos, objetivando criar maior familiaridade com eles.
Utilizou-se como ferramenta para a obtenção dos dados a aplicação de entrevistas semiestruturadas e, após a análise dos resultados, foram apresentadas sugestõescom o intuito de mitigar os resultados negativos encontrados. Conclui-se com esta pesquisa que para o exercício e respeito aos alunos transgêneros, é necessário criar um conjunto de ações que devem alcançar mudanças para garantir o adequado atendimento em demandas desta natureza, assim como é interessante reforçar as políticas de inclusão dos transgêneros promovendo um ambiente de acolhimento ao alunado.

of the social name to transgender students at the Federal University of the Espírito
Santo, in Goiabeiras campus. This way, we sought to understand how the
administrative dynamics of the amending the student´s social name have been taking
place from the approval of University Council Resolution - 23/2014 on, which
guarantees the right to the use the social name in this Institution of Higher Education
– IES spaces. It was also sought to know from the students who use this legal
institute, how they have perceived respect towards their gender identity at university
community spaces. Anchored in their narratives, it was possible to bring up every day
academic situations related to the use of the social name, uncovered in this
institution at the level of Academic Master's research until then. It is worth noting that
despite the desire to broaden the sample of interviewees, researching PostGraduation
students at UFES; this was not possible since there was no student with
a social name registered in the database of the Office of Post Graduate Studies and
Research. The research was characterized by its qualitative nature since it dealt with
a reality which cannot be quantified as it responds to specific questions. It is an
exploratory research because the theme required contact with new event, therefore
we justify the choice of such a strand since this modality embraces researches which
are close to unpublished studies, aiming to create greater familiarity with them. The
semi-structured interviews were used as a tool to obtain data and after analyzing the
outcome, suggestions were made to mitigate the negative results found. It is
concluded with this research that for the exercise and respect towards the
transgender students, a set of actions to achieve changes should be implemented to
guarantee the adequate accomplishment of such demands, as well as it is interesting
to reinforce the policies of inclusion of the transgender ones, promoting an embracing
atmosphere for these students.
