Previous issue date: 2014-09-08 / Esta pesquisa teve início após a percepção da complexidade dos resultados obtidos
durante as escavações arqueológicas realizadas no Mosteiro da Luz, em São Paulo.
Durante as intervenções, foram evidenciados onze corpos de mulheres que estiveram na
condição de enclausuradas durante os séculos XVIII e XIX o que, por conseguinte,
permitiu o estudo de como foram suas vidas. As intervenções foram realizadas em seis
túmulos de parede na cripta mortuária do claustro. Em cinco dos seis túmulos de parede,
puderam ser verificados dois sepultamentos não simultâneos e no outro, apenas uma
inumação. Ademais, esse que foi inumado sozinho e outros quatro indivíduos
apresentaram mumificação total ou parcial. Essas mulheres foram estudadas
arqueologicamente, buscando entender os aspectos da vida cotidiana e como se deu a
formação dos corpos dentro da instituição rígida de clausura, com controle das ações.
Para tanto utilizou-se uma metodologia baseada em diversas fontes, característica da
Arqueologia História, onde foi possível investigar o corpo vivo através de variáveis da
pesquisa documental, e o corpo morto por meio de variáveis da Arqueologia Funerária
(corpo cultural) e da Bioarqueologia (corpo biológico). As análises permitiram o
reconhecimento dos gestos e posturas recorrentes, além da identificação das
características comuns a todos os indivíduos e as particulares, que aludem a uma nova
resignificação da identidade. / This research began after the perceived complexity of the results obtained during
archeological excavations at the Mosteiro da Luz, São Paulo between 2008 and 2011
During the interventions eleven bodies of women who were provided cloistered were
evidenced during the centuries XVIII and XIX which therefore allows the study of their
lives as they were. The interventions were conducted in six burials in the crypt wall of
the cloister. In five of the six burials wall, could not be checked two simultaneous
burials and in another, only one burial. Furthermore, that this was interred alone and
four other individuals had total or partial mummification. These women were studied
archaeologically, seeking to understand the aspects of everyday life and how was the
formation of rigid bodies within the cloistered institution, with control of actions. For
this we used a methodology based on several sources, characteristic of Historical
Archaeology, where it was possible to investigate the living body through variables of
documentary research, and the dead through the variables in Mortuary Archaeology
(cultural body) and Bioarchaeology body (biological body). The analyzes allowed the
recognition of gestures and postures recurring, beyond identifying common to all
individuals and individuals which allude to a new reframing of identity characteristics.
