Previous issue date: 2016 / Uma das principais características tanto das "Sagradas" Escrituras quanto da literatura vampírica é que ambas parecem precisar de sangue para que suas narrativas fluam, é como se todo o texto tivesse nas suas entrelinhas uma corrente sanguínea que conecta o desenrolar da trama. O sangue ocupa um papel fundamental para o desencadeamento dos acontecimentos e também parece ser o elemento usado para dar maior dramaticidade às obras a serem analisadas, criando, desta forma, uma conexão entre a Bíblia e a literatura vampírica. Nossa hipótese é que o vampirismo literário pode ter surgido a partir de releituras do texto bíblico e de obras oriundas do mesmo. Portanto, o objetivo principal desta tese é investigar a dimensão da influência desses textos religiosos sobre os escritores de literatura vampírica. Para tal nos valemos das novelas O vampiro (1816) de John Polidori, Carmilla (1872) de Sheridan Le Fanu e os romances: Drácula (1897) de Bram Stoker, Entrevista com o vampiro (1976) e Vittorio - o Vampiro (1999) ambos escritos por Anne Rice e a Bíblia de Jerusalém edição de 1998. A linha de pesquisa por nós adotada para esta pesquisa é a Teopoética, cujo foco é a comparação entre teologia e literatura. Iniciamos essa tese investigando a Bíblia e as polêmicas que envolvem sua origem, sua construção, seus conteúdos e o Deus retratado dentro da mesma. Em seguida fazemos um apanhado da evolução do vampiro, desde as lendas e mitos da antiguidade até tornar-se um personagem literário no século XVII. A partir de então, investigamos sua evolução dentro da literatura até os dias atuais. Acreditamos que Jesus, Deus e o Diabo serviram de inspiração para os escritores de literatura na construção das características de seus personagens, portanto, averiguamos como esses personagens são mostrados dentro do texto bíblico para que assim possamos justificar nossas hipóteses. Finalmente, fazemos uma análise de como se dá o diálogo entre a Bíblia e os escritos baseados na mesma com a literatura vampírica, usando para tal, trechos das ?Sagradas? que podem ter influenciado os escritores com os quais trabalhamos.<br> / Abstract : A key feature of both the "Holy scriptures? and vampire literature is that they seem to need blood to make their narratives flow, as if the whole text had a blood stream between its lines that connects the unfolding of the plot. Blood plays a key role in triggering the events and seems also to be the element used to give more dramatic effect to the texts analysed in this thesis,thus creating a connection between the Bible and the vampire literature. Our hypothesis is that vampirism in literature may have emerged from readings of the biblical text and writings inspired by it. Therefore, the main objective of this thesis is to investigate the extent of the influence of these religious texts on vampire literature writers. In order to accomplish that we make use of the novellas The Vampire (1816) by John Polidori, Carmilla (1872) bySheridan Le Fanu and the novels: Dracula (1897) Bram Stoker, Interview with the Vampire (1976) and Vittorio - the Vampire (1999) both written by Anne Rice and also The Jerusalem Bible (1998). The line of research adopted is the Theopoetics, which focuses on the comparison between theology and literature. We started this thesis investigating the Bible and the controversies surrounding its origin, its construction, its contents and the God portrayed in it. Then we analyse the vampire evolution, from the legends and myths of antiquity until its transformation in a literary character in the seventeenth century. After that, we investigate its evolution within literature to the present day. We believe that Jesus, God and the Devil were used as source of inspiration by literature writers in the construction of the features of their characters, thus we investigated how these characters are shown within the biblical text so that we could justify our hypotheses. Finally, we analyse how the relation between the Bible and the writings based on it and vampire literature is constructed, looking at excerpts from the "Holy" Scriptures that may have influenced the writers with whom we work.
