Previous issue date: 2015 / Nesta dissertação, o reino do Mbalundo será descrito e analisado como uma organização sociocultural e política consuetudinária angolana, especificamente da etnia Ovimbundu que tem como soberano o rei ou soma inene. Com base nas tradições sucessórias, descrevo suas relações com o território, a cultura, a história, a língua, as simbologias e rituais que o sustentam e o fundamentam como uma das comunidades políticas com reconhecida liderança perante o Estado nacional angolano da atualidade. Abordo também, sob este prisma, a memória social compartilhada pela corte atual e discuto a literatura histórica e antropológica sobre este assunto, para compreender as formas de continuidade e de resistência do reino ao Império Colonial Português e no período seguinte, as sucessivas guerras que ocorreram em Angola nos anos de 1975 a 2002. Por fim, analiso os princípios que conferem ao reino do Mbalundo a atual unidade política e norteiam as suas relações com o Estado nacional angolano.<br> / Abstract : In this dissertation, the Mbalundo Kingdom will be described and analyzed as an angolan sociocultural and consumary political organization, specifically of Ovimbundu ethnicity which has as sovereign the king or soma inene. Based on the succession tradition, I describe its relations with the territory, culture, history, language, the symbols and rituals that sustain it and underpin it as one of the political communities with known leadership before the current Angolan National State. I also approach, under this light, the shared social memory by the current court and I discuss the historical and anthropological literature about this subject to understand the ways of continuity and resistance from the kingdom to the Portuguese Colonial Empire and the next period, the successive wars that occurred in Angola by the years of 1975 to 2002. Finally, I analyze the principles that give to Mbalundo kingdom, the current political unity and guide its relations with the Angolan National State.
