Previous issue date: 2016 / Desde a chegada dos primeiros veranistas, na década de 1920, a orla marítima da cidade de Balneário Camboriú tem sofrido modificações vertiginosas. Pensando nisso, esta dissertação analisa a maneira como a orla marítima de Balneário Camboriú foi espacialmente ocupada e apropriada durante a segunda metade do século XX, ao investigar lugares urbanos e práticas sociais efetivadas neste local ao longo do tempo. Considerando o recorte temporal delimitado por esta pesquisa, foi possível identificar três momentos da trajetória da orla marítima dessa cidade. Em cada um destes períodos, observamos este local enquanto um lugar praticado, identificando as diferentes configurações de lugares urbanos, relações sociais e vivências. Para tanto, fez-se uso das mais diversas fontes históricas, como fotografias, entrevistas, legislação municipal e periódicos. Num primeiro momento, que compreende a década de 1950, uma infraestrutura turística já se esboçava na então Praia de Camboriú, o que pode ser notado pela publicação do primeiro guia turístico local. Contudo, a Praia é recordada pelas suas singelas casas de madeira, as tortuosas ruas de barro, a dependência com as cidades vizinhas e o comércio realizado através de carroças. Uma nova realidade começou a se configurar a partir de 1964 em Balneário Camboriú. Um suposto ?progresso? tomou conta dos discursos sobre a cidade, seja nos periódicos, nas entrevistas ou na legislação municipal. A partir de então, a orla marítima passou por um processo de intensas transformações que foram marcadas, especialmente, pelo início da verticalização. A construção de edifícios cada vez mais altos na orla seguiu intensa até os anos 2000, quando diversas edificações começaram a se instalar nas margens do Rio Camboriú, um significativo local para a história da cidade. Construções públicas e privadas localizadas nas margens desse Rio apontam não apenas para momentos do passado da cidade, mas também para intenções e transformações que podem acontecer, e já estão ocorrendo, em Balneário Camboriú.<br> / Abstract : Since the first vacationers arrived, in the 1920?s, the seafront of Balneário Camboriú city has suffered huge changes. In this sense, this dissertation analyzes how the seafront of Balneário Camboriú has been spatially occupied and appropriated during the second half of the twentieth century, and investigates urban places and social practices performed at this location over time. Considering the chronological cut defined by this research, it was possible to identify three moments of the trajectory of this city? seafront. In each of these periods, we analyzed this local as a practiced place by identifying different configurations of urban places, social relations and experiences. Therefore, it had made use of various historical sources, such as photographs, interviews, municipal legislation and journals. At first, in the 1950?s, a tourist infrastructure had already outlined in the then Praia de Camboriú, which can be noted by the publication of its first local tour guide. However, the Beach is remembered for its simple wooden houses, clay streets, dependence with neighboring cities and trade conducted by carts. A new reality began to set up from 1964 in Balneário Camboriú. A supposed "progress" took over the speeches about the city, either in journals, in interviews or in the municipal legislation. Since then, the seafront has undergone a process of profound transformations that have been marked, especially, at the beginning of verticalization. The construction of increasingly tall buildings on the seafront followed intense until the 2000?s, when several buildings began to settle on the riverside of the Rio Camboriú, a significant place to the history of the city. Public and provate buildings installed on the border of this river point not only for moments of the past of this city, but also for intentions and transformations that may occur, and are already taking place, in Balneário Camboriú.
