A condição humana,caracterizada pela vitaactiva,é constituída por três atividades humanas fundamentais -o trabalho, a obra e a ação. A cada uma destas atividades corresponde uma condição básica para a vida do homem. Já o cuidado de si é constituído simultaneamente como um atributo e uma necessidade universal dos seres humanos, regido por princípios de aplicação geral, embora orientados para uma prática de caráter e responsabilidades individuais. A partir dos textos de Hannah Arendt e Michel Foucault buscou-se compreender a condição humana e o cuidado de si dos profissionais de saúde docentes de uma universidade privada do sul do Brasil.Para tanto,buscou-se descrever as características dos profissionais de saúde docentes; identificar as atividades que sustentam a condição humana; investigar as práticas de cuidado de si; e analisar as interfaces entre condição humana e o cuidado de si. Nesta investigação foi utilizado método qualitativo, exploratório e descritivo, com o intuito de chegar aos objetivos propostos. Para isso foi realizada entrevista semi-estruturada com onze profissionais de saúde docentes. Após foi realizada análise de conteúdo temático-categorial de acordo com as três etapas de análise (pré-análise, exploração do material e tratamento dos resultados, inferências e interpretação)conforme proposto por Minayo (2007), Bardin (2010), Oliveira (2008). Da análise das respostas dos profissionais de saúde docentes em relação às questões que buscavam revelar aspectos referentes à condição humana emergiram três categorias # os caminhos percorridos para a docência; o viver e sobreviver na universidade; e, a felicidade e as boas obras na docência.Estas categorias originaram oito subcategorias. A partir da temática do cuidado de si emergiram três outras categorias # as faces e as máscaras da saúde; a quebra do cotidiano e as tentativas; e, o olhar voltado para si e o mover-se.Estas foram subdivididas em quatro subcategorias. Ao final desta tese foi possível caracterizar os participantes como profissionais que renunciaram carreira clínica e escolheram a docência. O preparo para ser docente foi feito após o ingresso na universidade, na própria prática docente, isto é,foram aprendendo a #ser professor# no cotidiano do próprio trabalho. O trabalho emerge como atividade central que sustenta a condição humana e a ausência do cuidado de si se estabelece como resultado. As interfaces entre a condição humana e o cuidado de si ocorrem nos aspectos relacionados à saúde e ao corpo / The human condition and the caring for itself are two philosophical issues straight related to life. The human condition characterized by the vita activa consists of three fundamental human activities - labor, work and action. Each of these activities matches a basic condition for human life. The caring for itself is an attribute and a universal need of human beings at the same time, guided by principles of general application, although oriented to a practice of feature and responsibilities absolutely individual. From the texts of Hannah Arendt and Michel Foucault sought to understand to what extent and how the human condition and caring for itself of health professionals teachers at a private university in southern Brazil find similarities and differences with the characteristics described by Arendt and Foucault. To this end, we sought to describe the characteristics of health professional.s teachers, to identify the activities that sustain the human condition of these subjects, to investigate the practices of caring for itself and to analyze the interfaces between the human condition and caring for itself in these health professionals. teachers. For this purpose, we used qualitative, exploratory and descriptive method. The data collection was by semi structured interviews with eleven health professionals teachers. We performed the content analysis theme categorical and were completed the three steps (pre-analysis, material exploration and processing of the results, inferences and interpretation) of analysis as proposed by Minayo (2007), Bardin (2010), Oliveira (2008). The analysis of the responses of health professionals teachers in relation to the questions that sought to reveal aspects related to the human condition emerged three categories - the paths taken to teaching, to live and survive at university, happiness and good works in teaching, which led to eight subcategories. From the theme of caring for itself emerged three other categories - faces and masks of health, breaking daily life and attempts to, the looking to itself and the moving; subdivided into four subcategories. At the end of this thesis was possible to characterize the participants as professionals who renounced clinical career and chose teaching. The preparation for teaching was done after admission at the university, in their own teaching practice, in other words, they were learning to "be a teacher" in the daily work. The work emerges as a central activity that sustains the human condition and the absence of caring for itself is established as a result.
