Previous issue date: 2005-12-05 / Universidade Federal de Sao Carlos / Speeches and Images: the school of infantile education in the perspective of children is a work that has as intention the production of a methodology and methodologycals procedures, in the perspective of searching an approach of and, with the five years old child, for the production of effects, directions, images and speeches of them about
school, the things, the games and the people that they live together. The study was developed by means of a research of qualitative nature. The collection of data was made having as main focus the five years old children who composed
one of the groups of a municipal school of infantile education of the city of São Carlos - SP and, in the attempt of composing a methodology and to generate methodologycals tools for research with small children, it was used comments, with register in daily of field and the use of video camera, beyond the interviews and the production of photographic images by the children. In the children speeches, as much in the interviews, as in the conversations about the pictures, it was possible to perceive that they have clarity on what they like in the institution of infantile education which they frequent. They feel themselves happy in this public, social and not familiar space that is the school. The public character, social and out of the familiar order is perceived by the children as a newness in its lives, as a space where they
have the chance to live deeply bows of friendships with other children and other adults, chance to live deeply other affection and meeting. The production of a methodology was not only one effort of searching a proximity with the children and its knowledge. A methodology with children means to
produce instruments for children think, to help them to think, or either, a methodology with children just make sense if, at the same time, produces knowledge with them. This study also
delineated some necessary cares for the use of instruments or methodologycals tools in the collect of data in the research with small children. / Falas e Imagens: a escola de educação infantil na perspectiva das crianças é um trabalho que tem como propósito a produção de uma metodologia e de procedimentos
metodológicos, na perspectiva de buscar uma aproximação da e com a criança de cinco anos de idade, para a produção de efeitos, sentidos, imagens e falas delas sobre a escola, as coisas, as brincadeiras e as pessoas com as quais convivem.
O estudo foi desenvolvido por meio de uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa. A coleta de dados foi realizada tendo como foco principal às crianças de cinco anos de idade que
compunham uma das turmas de uma escola municipal de educação infantil da cidade de São Carlos SP e, na tentativa de compor uma metodologia e gerar ferramentas metodológicas para pesquisas com crianças pequenas, utilizou-se de observações, com registro em diários de campo e com o uso de filmagem em vídeo, além das entrevistas e da produção de imagens fotográficas pelas crianças.
Nas falas das crianças, tanto nas entrevistas, como nas conversas sobre as fotografias, foi possível perceber que elas têm clareza sobre o que gostam da instituição de
educação infantil que freqüentam. Elas se sentem felizes nesse espaço público, coletivo e não familiar que é a escola. O caráter público, coletivo e fora da ordem familiar é percebido pelas crianças como uma novidade em suas vidas, como um espaço em que elas têm a oportunidade
de vivenciar laços de amizades com outras crianças e com outros adultos, oportunidade de vivenciar outros afetos e encontros. A produção de uma metodologia não foi apenas um esforço de buscar uma proximidade com as crianças e com os seus conhecimentos. Uma metodologia com crianças
significa produzir instrumentos para que as crianças pensem sobre, ajudem-na a pensar, ou seja, uma metodologia com crianças só tem sentido se, ao mesmo tempo, se produzir
conhecimentos com elas. Este estudo também delineou alguns cuidados necessários para o uso de instrumentos ou ferramentas metodológicas de coleta de dados na pesquisa com crianças pequenas.
