2012_FabiulaMartinsRamalho.pdf: 2443616 bytes, checksum: fbe2ab434692938fd63db2fe02ea0fa3 (MD5) / Esta dissertação tem por objetivo analisar a trajetória e a atuação do escritor paraibano Ariano Suassuna, como artista e intelectual, e traçar um diálogo entre a sua visão de mundo– no que se refere à cultura brasileira e em particular à cultura popular – e a obra Farsa da boa preguiça, uma das grandes peças que compõe o seu teatro, que é fonte de invenção e explicação do Brasil e sua cultura. Para realizar tal propósito, percorremos o itinerário artístico de Ariano no Teatro do Estudante de Pernambuco (TEP) e no Teatro Popular do Nordeste (TPN) a fim de mostrar como a participação ativa nesses grupos formou o seu pensamento, definindo o seu caminho no teatro e contribuindo para a criação do Movimento Armorial em 1970. Ao ancorar-se nos valores e nas tradições das manifestações populares, Suassuna buscou, com o Movimento, criar uma arte erudita brasileira baseada no Romanceiro Popular Nordestino para representar o universo da sua “nordestinidade”, este permeado de personagens sertanejos, como o poeta popular Joaquim Simão da Farsa da Boa Preguiça, foco de análise deste estudo. No diálogo irônico e satírico entre o poeta e a suposta intelectual Clarabela, Ariano mostra ao seu leitor/espectador o seu modo de ver o mundo e a cultura brasileira por meio do efeito cômico que não enfatiza somente o teatro alegre do dramaturgo, mas mostra a sua visão crítica incorporada ao riso. _______________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / This thesis aims to provide an overview of the history and role of the playwright Ariano Suassuna as an artist and intellectual, as well as to draw a dialogue between his worldview and the culture of Brasil, in particular that of the popular culture. In this sense, we analyzed Farsa da boa preguiça, one of his most remarkable plays, considering it a source of explanation, discussion and representation of the Brazilian culture. In order to achieve these purposes, we focused on the author’s artistic itinerary in Teatro do Estudande de Pernambuco (TEP) and in Teatro Popular do Nordeste (TPN) to show how his active participation in these groups formed his way of thinking, set his path to becoming a playwright and contributed to the creation of the Armorial Movement (Movimento Armorial) in 1970. Basing himself on the values and traditions of popular manifestations, Suassuna created, with the Armorial Moviment, an art based on the Romanceiro Popular Nordestino to represent the universe of his “nordestinidade” plenty of sertanejo characters, such as popular poet Joaquim Simão, from Farsa da boa preguiça, the focus of our analysis. By means of ironic and satirical dialogues between the poet and the supposedly intellectual Clarabela, Aniano Suassuna shows the reader/ viewer the way he sees the world and Brazilian culture, and by using an ironic and metalinguistic language, the author outlines his critical view of our reality.
