Previous issue date: 2008 / O estudo sobre o sofrimento mental e a satisfação no trabalho foi realizado com 132 professores das escolas inclusivas estaduais do ensino fundamental de Porto Velho-RO. Teve por objetivo verificar o nível de sofrimento mental e sua possível correlação com a satisfação no trabalho através de estudo de corte transversal. Para sua concretização, foram utilizados três instrumentos: o questionário sócio-demográfico; o questionário Self-Report-questionnaire (SQR-20), e a Escala de satisfação no trabalho do OSI-Ocupational Stress Indicator, mensurada por meio de escala de Likert. Os resultados apresentaram 45,5% de prevalência de distúrbios psíquicos menores, considerados como indicadores de evidências de sofrimento mental dos professores. A satisfação no trabalho teve índices similares aos encontrados na literatura, aprestando a maior proporção nas variáveis intermediárias, ou seja, as suas maiores freqüências estão no intervalo de alguma satisfação, com 26,5% e 24,6% com alguma insatisfação, sendo que os maiores índices de insatisfações estão nas varáveis de realização das aspirações e salário proporcionados pelo trabalho. A correlação de satisfação no trabalho e sofrimento mental foi encontrada estatisticamente utilizandose do coeficiente de correlação linear de Pearson, sendo este -0,3265, o coeficiente de correlação negativo significa que a satisfação no trabalho e sofrimento mental são inversamente proporcionais. Pois, quanto mais a satisfação aumenta conseqüentemente diminui o nível de sofrimento mental. ________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / The study of mental suffering and the satisfaction at work achieved with 132 teachers of elementary inclusive schools of the state in Porto Velho – RO, it had like an objective verify the level of mental suffering and its association with the satisfaction at work through the study of transversal cut with the teachers, to achieve this study was used three instruments, the social demographic questionnaire elaborated with the aim of showing the social demographic profile of teachers, the questionnaire, “self report questionnaire” (SQR-20) to identify mental suffering through the identification of low psycho failures and the scales of satisfaction in the work of OSI – Occupational Stress Indicator, with 22 questions about satisfaction at work, measured by Liker Scale. The results pointed out 45,5% in prevalence of low psycho failures considered like indicators of evidence of teachers mental suffering. The satisfaction at work had index similar to the ones found in the literature. The satisfaction at work was associated to mental suffering, proportionally inverted; the more is the satisfaction at work increase consequently decreasing the level of mental suffering.
