Previous issue date: 2008 / O desenvolvimento da televisão como veículo de comunicação de massa trouxe contribuições significativas para as reflexões acerca das controvérsias existentes sobre os possíveis efeitos da programação televisiva no cotidiano do público. A imagem reforça os paradigmas teóricos e metodológicos que subsidiam o poder por ela exercido, demonstrando que o espectador interage com a tevê e elabora representações de acordo com um universo sociocultural próprio. A existência dos mitos na programação televisiva, na maioria das vezes, apresenta situações que nos remetem a alguns conteúdos: o herói, o vencedor, o bem, o mal; a transformação; a inexistência da morte e do tempo, o prazer pelo fantástico e pelo terror; a necessidade de conforto e segurança; a eternidade da vida e dos valores; a ação e a aventura; vitória sobre os inimigos e a destruição deles; desejo e egoísmo. O presente trabalho tem o objetivo de pesquisar como a presença dos mitos nas mensagens televisivas veiculadas pelo Jornal Nacional interferem na formação e no desenvolvimento das estruturas psíquicas, uma vez que, inconscientemente, o espectador assiste ao telejornal, estabelecendo uma relação com os personagens. A partir dessa perspectiva, o telespectador não apenas se diverte e se informa, como também elimina medos e esquece os problemas do cotidiano. A fundamentação teórica é a análise dos princípios e estruturas básicas do audiovisual e a linguagem narrativa ligada a figuras míticas no Jornal Nacional e de que maneira essa linguagem pode afetar o comportamento dos telespectadores. ______________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / The development of television as a means of mass communication has brought up significant contributions for thoughts on existing debates on the possible effects of television programming on the public’s daily lives. The image strengthen theoretical and methodological patterns that subsidize its power, showing the spectator actually interacts with the TV and elaborates representations in accordance with his or her own sociocultural universe. The existence of myths in television programming mostly presents situations leading us to some contents: the hero, the winner, the good, the evil; the change; the inexistence of death and time, the pleasure in fantastic reality and horror; the need for comfort and safety; the eternity of life and values; the action and adventure; victory over the enemies and their destruction; desires and selfishness. This paper intends to research how the presence of myths in television images shown specifically by Journal National (Brazilian news show) interferes in the formation and development of psychic structures, considering the spectator unconsciously watches the show as he or she establishes a relationship with the characters. From this perspective, the spectator not only has fun and is informed, but also eliminates fear and forgets his or her day-to-day problems. The theoretical basis is to assess the basic principles and structures of audiovisual and narrative language related to mythical characters shown I Journal National, and the effects this language may have on spectators’ behavior.
