evolutivo grande parte de sua qualidade e força plástica pode ser atribuída a Oscar
Niemeyer que tomou a dianteira no campo da criação arquitetônica, dando a cada novo
projeto uma contundente expressividade. Niemeyer é considerado um dos maiores arquitetos brasileiros, isso é reflexo tanto da quantidade de obras construídas quanto da
grande quantidade de produções teóricas, esses dois elementos, permitem a realização de inúmeros estudos por parte da prática acadêmica. No estudo de sua produção teórica, fica evidente que o arquiteto sempre buscou uma integração entre a concepção estrutural e plástica para o surgimento de sua arquitetura. Considerando essa convergência, esse trabalho busca analisar a importância da concepção estrutural na qualidade plástica da obra de Niemeyer, esse estudo fica mais evidente se
focado em uma obra onde a conexão entre arquitetura e estrutura pode ser descrita com
grande precisão e rigor, a Ponte Costa e Silva, em Brasília. Para tal, fez-se inicialmente um levantamento histórico da concepção arquitetônica do objeto, sua construção e peculiaridades para a conclusão, permitindo a catalogação de mais
uma obra do arquiteto. Em seguida, realizou-se uma análise da concepção estrutural como partido para a qualidade plástica com o uso da ferramenta computacional FTOOL, que nos permitiu uma análise qualitativa evidenciando o grande entendimento estrutural do arquiteto e como esse conhecimento foi refletido para propiciar uma obra arquitetônica de melhor acordo com suas imposições tecno-estáticas.
Com os resultados foi possível compreender as vantagens de uma interpolação entre arquitetura e estrutura e como o arquiteto pode tirar partido dessa ferramenta para elaborar uma arquitetura mais conivente com a sujeição às cargas e pleno equilíbrio estrutural. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / The Brazilian architecture has evolved substantially in the last seventy years resulting in an evolutive journey. One could say that a great part of the Brazilian architecture’s quality and plastic force can be attributed to Oscar Niemeyer, who took the lead in the field of architectural creation, giving to each new project a blast of expressiveness. Niemeyer is considered one of best architects in Brazil, not only because of the volume of his work, but
also because his innumerous theoretical outputs. These two elements combined permit the realization of innumerous studies by academics. In the study of theoretical application, it is evident that Niemeyer has always sought integration between the structural conception and plastic for the development of his architecture. Considering this statement, this piece aspires to analyze the importance of the structural conception in the plastic quality of the work of Niemeyer. This study is more
evident if focused in a work where the connection between architecture and structure are described with precision and exactitude; the Costa e Silva Bridge, in Brasilia. To accomplish such endeavor, a historical investigation of the architectural conception of the above named masterpiece was performed, as well as a historical research of its construction, peculiarities and finally, its conclusion. This work has also allowed the cataloguing of another Niemeyer’s masterpiece. The second step was to analyze the structural conception as the foundation for the plastic
quality with the implementation of the computerized tool FTOOL, which has allowed us to make a qualitative analysis and consequently demonstrate the vast structural understanding of Niemeyer’s knowledge and how this knowledge was reflected to provide an architectural work in better agreement with techno static impositions. With the findings of this piece, it was possible to understand the advantages of an interpolation between architecture and structure, and how an architect can benefit from this tool to elaborate an architecture better subjective to loads and a full structural equilibrium.
