Previous issue date: 2008-11 / O presente trabalho tem como principal objetivo o estudo do Evangelho de João conforme consta no Códice Grego do Novo Testamento da Biblioteca Nacional do Rio de Janeiro, denominado Evangeliae Grecae. A obra foi incluída, em 1953, no Catálogo Internacional de manuscritos do Novo Testamento, como Códice 2437, segundo os padrões internacionais. O manuscrito, descoberto pelo Dr. Bruce Metzger, datado como pertencente ao século XI ou XII, passou a ser parte do acervo da biblioteca nacional, em 1912, quando foi doado pelo Dr. João Pandiá Calógeras. O estudo desse manuscrito realizado neste trabalho foi feito na perspectiva da Crítica Textual, cujos conceitos básicos, importância, objetivos e outros aspectos gerais foram apresentados com vistas a fundamentar o exercício crítico-textual. O texto do Códice 2437 é escrito em grego koinê, também conhecido como helenístico ou alexandrino. A tradução foi elaborada segundo o modelo proposto por Newmark (1981 e 1988), denominado Tradução comunicativa, cujo foco está sobre o leitor e a comunicação que se estabelece entre o texto e ele, tarefa complexa em se tratando de tradução interlinear, quebrada de modo a respeitar os limites da extensão da linha em grego. O trabalho apresenta cópia fac-símile de cada página referente ao Evangelho de João, transcrição diplomática do texto, elaboração de aparato crítico – feito a partir da comparação com a 27ª edição crítica do Novo Testamento Grego de Nestlè-Aland –, seguida de análise das variantes acidentais e das substantivas, bem como sua relação com outros manuscritos considerados importantes pelos críticos do Novo Testamento, além da tradução interlinear. _______________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / This thesis has as main objective the study of the John’s Gospel as it is on New Testament Greek Codex from Biblioteca Nacional do Rio de Janeiro, named Evangeliae Grecae. This literary work was included, in 1953, in the New Testament Manuscripts International Catalogue, as 2437 Codex, following the international patterns. The manuscript, discovered by Dr. Bruce Metzger, dated as belonging to 11th or 12th century, became part of Biblioteca Nacional’s archive catalog in 1912, when it was donated to the library by Dr. João Pandiá Calógeras. This manuscript’s study, performed on this thesis, was made in the perspective of the Textual Critics, and its basic concepts, importance, objectives and others general aspects were presented intended to fundament the textual-critic exercise. The text from 2437 Codex is written in a Greek kind known as koine, also as hellenistic or alexandrine. The translation was performed following the model proposed by Newmark (1981 e 1988), named Communicative Translation, which has its focus over the reader and the communication between him and the text. It’s such a complex task considering an interlinear translation; the translation is distributed among the lines in the meaning of respecting their extension limits, in Greek. The thesis presents facsimile copy of each page that refers to the John’s Gospel, diplomatic transcription of the text, critical apparatus performance – elaborated in comparison with the 27th critic edition of Greek New Testament, of Nestlè-Aland –, followed by analysis of the accidental and substantive variants, and its relation with others considered important manuscripts by New Testament critics, besides the interlinear translation.
