Previous issue date: 2007 / A presente dissertação pretende analisar as características da obra de arte alimentar considerando o alimento como importante elemento simbólico, construtor do produto artístico. As características abordadas (efemeridade, discurso político, apropriação e introjeção) permitem configurar um tipo de
produção que existe em um preciso contexto artístico, histórico e social, revelando a intenção do artista e o impacto da obra sobre o fruidor. A análise apresentada nessa dissertação torna-se o fio condutor de um processo de pesquisa que começa com uma reflexão sobre o alimento e termina com a
elaboração de uma obra alimentar (fotografia comestível) produzida pela autora. ______________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / The present dissertation aims at analyzing the characteristics of food art work, where food is seen as an import symbolic element for the construction of art products. The characteristics under study – ephemerity, political discourse, appropriation and introjection – enable a type of production that exists in a precise artistic, historical and social context, thus revealing the artist’s intention and the
impact of the work on the enjoyer. The analysis presented in this dissertation
becomes the conducting wire of a research process that begins with a reflection on food and ends with the creation of a food art work produced by the author – an edible photograph.
