Previous issue date: 2006 / A pesquisa investiga as percepções dos jovens participantes do projeto Rede Jovem de Cidadania, da organização não-governamental Associação Imagem Comunitária, de Belo Horizonte, acerca das inter-relações entre Educação e Comunicação. O trabalho objetiva compreender as percepções dos jovens sobre Educação e Cidadania a partir da prática de comunicação experimentada no projeto. Além disso, buscou-se observar a participação dos jovens nessa experiência. A investigação combinou instrumentos qualitativos para a obtenção das informações. Na primeira etapa, o levantamento dos projetos existentes e estudos exploratórios permitiram a escolha do Rede Jovem de Cidadania. A aplicação de questionário tornou possível a identificação do perfil dos jovens e as entrevistas por pautas proporcionaram o conhecimento das opiniões desses jovens e de integrantes da Associação Imagem Comunitária. A organização e análise dos dados obtidos possibilitou identificar as percepções dos jovens sobre Educação e Comunicação, assim como suas inter-relações dentro da organização não-governamental. Os resultados revelaram a importância da escola e da comunidade para os jovens. A prática de comunicação trouxe inúmeros benefícios para o desenvolvimento humano, educacional e profissional desses jovens.
______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / The research investigates the perceptions of the young participants of the "Rede Jovem de Cidadania" project, from the "Associação Imagem Comunitária" nongovernmental organization, from Belo Horizonte, about the inter-relations between Education and Communication. The work seeks to understand the perceptions of the youngs about Education and Citizenship from the usage of experienced communication in the project. Besides, it tries to observe the participation of the young men in this experience. The investigation combined qualitative instruments to obtain the informations. In the first stage, the search of the existing projects and exploratories studies allowed the choice of the “Rede Jovem de Cidadania”. The application of the questionary enabled to identify the profile of the youngs and the interviews using guided lines proportioned to know the opinions of these young men and components of the “Associação Imagem Comunitária”. The organization and analysis of the obtained data enabled to identify the perceptions of the young participants about Education and Communication, as well as their inter-relations inside the non-governmental organization. The results revealed the importance of the school and the community to these young men. The usage of communication brought innumerables benefits to the human, education and professional development of these young persons.
