2010_RogerioMakino.pdf: 1317707 bytes, checksum: 65f82afcf425a877962d8e60a8298d20 (MD5) / Por cerca de meio século, as relações entre Brasil e Japão praticamente se resumiam à questão migratória e, mesmo nas duas primeiras décadas do pós-Segunda Guerra Mundial, quando essas relações tendiam à complexização e à intensificação, a imigração nipônica continuou a ser um assunto importante até o seu desaparecimento quase súbito no final dos anos sessenta. A presente dissertação tem como objetivo estudar a importância do tema da imigração japonesa para o Brasil na agenda bilateral nipo-brasileira em perspectiva histórica. Esse trabalho tem dois grandes focos: um sobre a imigração japonesa propriamente dita e as suas condicionantes e outro sobre os principais episódios e temas das relações nipo-brasileiras. O período abrangido pela pesquisa foi aquele em que a imigração era de fato um assunto substancial da agenda bilateral de Brasil e Japão, ou seja, do estabelecimento de relações diplomáticas em 1895 ao inicio do período áureo das relações nipo-brasileiras na década de setenta. _________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / For approximately half century, the relations between Brazil and Japan were almost exclusively based on the question of the Japanese immigration to Brazil and, even in the two post-Second World War decades, when these relations had the trend of complexization and intensification, it continued to be an important issue until its sudden disappearance in the late sixties. The objective of this dissertation is to study the importance of the Japanese immigration to Brazil in the Brazilian-Japanese bilateral agenda in a historical perspective. This research focuses two main topics: the first one, about the Japanese immigration itself and its constrains, and the second one, about the most important episodes and issues of the relation between the two countries. The research holds the period when the Japanese immigration was a substantial subject in their bilateral agenda, that is, from the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Brazil in 1895 to the beginning of the golden era of their relations in the seventies.
