2008_SilviaDeMeloCaldas.pdf: 545784 bytes, checksum: 3fcde7ca2a1135cc3f0da350a8ae6367 (MD5) / Este estudo propõe a investigação das crenças de uma professora formadora sobre o papel do professor de LE, considerando a importância do professor formador no processo reflexivo de formação de futuros profissionais da área de ensino e aprendizagem de línguas. A pesquisa configura-se como um estudo de caso e teve como objetivo levantar as crenças da professora, relacionando-as a suas experiências anteriores de ensino e aprendizagem de LE e também à sua prática como formadora. Os instrumentos utilizados para a coleta de dados foram questionário escrito, entrevistas, gravações em áudio e vídeo, narrativa oral e escrita, observações em sala de aula, notas de campo e sessões reflexivas. Os resultados sugerem várias crenças, dentre elas, a de que é papel do professor motivar o aluno e a de que o professor é o maior ou o único responsável pelo processo de avaliação. As crenças identificadas parecem ligadas à experiência e/ou prática da participante como formadora, o que demonstra a necessidade de que as investigações sobre crenças considerem as experiências e ações dos participantes. O presente trabalho contribui para agregar dados de pesquisas sobre crenças, em especial, as do professor formador. Por meio desta investigação, espero contribuir para o esclarecimento das origens das crenças do professor formador e para a análise das possíveis influências destas na formação dos professores aprendizes, possibilitando uma formação reflexiva mais efetiva. _________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / This study proposes the investigation of a teacher educator’s beliefs about the role of foreign language teachers, taking into consideration her conclusive importance in the reflective process of formation of these future professionals in the field of language teaching. This investigation is a case study that aims at collecting beliefs of this teacher educator, relating them to her previous language teaching and learning experiences and also to her practice as a teacher educator. The following sources of data collection were used: written questionnaire, interview, audio and video recordings, written and oral narratives, class observations, field notes, and reflection sessions. The findings suggest various beliefs. One of them is that motivating the student is one of the teacher’s role, and also that the teacher is the major, or the only responsible for the evaluation process. All the beliefs detected are connected to the experience and/or practice of the teacher investigated, which shows the importance and relevance of investigating beliefs considering the experience and practice of informants, in general, to reach more revealing results. The present work contributes to add data to beliefs research, especially, about the teacher educator. I hope this investigation not only helps trace the origins of the teacher educator’s beliefs, but also analyzes the possible influences of these in the formation of teacher learners, making their education more reflexive and effective.
