O estudo ora realizado aborda essa prática cultural desenvolvida na cidade de Olímpia/SP pela Companhia de Reis Fernandes, fundada por Celso Fernandes que há mais de 50 anos participa das festividades devotas aos Santos Reis. Esta investigação se detém entre os anos de 1964-2014. A primeira data marca o início das atividades desse grupo, época na qual os foliões já residiam na cidade, mas desenvolviam a peregrinação integralmente na zona rural do município; com o período de deslocamento do giro, essa atividade passou a ocorrer na zona urbana. As variações nessa prática cultural reforçaram a necessidade de que essa análise se prolongasse até as atividades realizadas pelo grupo em 2014. Nesse sentido, o recorte temporal permitirá a concepção de uma análise sobre as transformações ocorridas nessas manifestações que podem ser distintas das práticas recorrentes. O objetivo da pesquisa é, pois, compreender as permanências e transformações nas práticas e representações culturais da Companhia, em decorrência das mudanças sociais e econômicas que marcaram a transição do espaço da festa, passando pelas relações entre os foliões e os devotos. Nesse esforço, foram pesquisados os anuários do Festival de Folclore de Olímpia e coletados relatos orais de membros da Companhia sobre as práticas e significações dessa manifestação, um levantamento que constitui importante fonte para esta pesquisa, abrindo assim também a possibilidade para abordagens de novas interpretações das realidades sociais inscritas nessa festividade do ciclo natalino / The Folia de Reis, a merrymaking which has sacred and profane characteristics, is one of the most popular religious festivities in the state of São Paulo. The study conducted herein approaches this cultural practice developed in the city of Olímpia, São Paulo, by Companhia de Reis Fernandes, founded by Celso Fernandes, that has been participating in the festivities devoted to the Holy Kings for more than 50 years. This research holds between the years 1964-2014.The first date marks the beginning of the activities of this group, time in which revelers were living in the city, but were fully developing the pilgrimage in its rural area; with the spin displacement period, this activity now occurs in the urban area. The variation in this cultural practice reinforces the need to analyze the activities of the group until 2014. Hence, the temporal cut will allow the conception of an analysis about the changes occurred in these demonstrations which may differ from recurrent practices. The objective of the research is therefore understand permanence and changes in practices and cultural representations of the Companhia as a result of social and economic changes that marked the transition of the celebration space, passing through the relations between revelers and devotees. In this effort, annuals of Festival de Folclore de Olímpia were researched and oral history about practices and meanings of this manifestation were collected from members of the Companhia, a survey that is an important source for this research; thus, it opens possibilities also to new interpretations of social realities in this festivity of the Christmas cycle
