Previous issue date: 2017-04-20 / Nos últimos anos surgiram diversas reflexões relacionadas às rápidas mudanças nas áreas científica, tecnológica, política, educacional e social, resultantes das inovações tecnológicas. Esta dissertação busca estudar, identificar e sistematizar as principais ideias que norteiam e configuram a gestão de bibliotecas universitárias públicas, especificamente no que se refere as políticas de informação e tecnologia. Elencam-se como objetivos específicos da pesquisa: compreender como as mídias sociais se integram às políticas de informação; verificar como as bibliotecas das universidades da USP/Ribeirão Preto e da UNESP/Marília utilizam as mídias sociais e como são exploradas; verificar as principais políticas tecnológicas e recursos usados por essas bibliotecas; compreender a importância das mídias sociais para essas unidades de informação; comparar os recursos tecnológicos e as políticas de informação existentes nessas unidades. Com a intenção de verificar as diferenças e as similaridades entre as unidades selecionadas, adotou-se neste estudo o método comparativo. Esta dissertação foi elaborada a partir de levantamentos bibliográficos e desenvolvimento de tabela comparativa, baseada nos estudos de Lubisco (2011), nas questões que provavelmente teriam maiores impactos nas bibliotecas universitárias de 2010, e França (2015). A partir dos resultados obtidos identificou-se a adaptação das bibliotecas universitárias em relação ao uso das mídias sociais a fim de melhor atender as necessidades informacionais de seus usuários. Planejar a unidade informacional, visualizar o futuro, definir o caminho para se alcançar os objetivos propostos, que podem contribuir aos gestores a estabelecer as bibliotecas no contexto administrativo das universidades, considerando sua relevância e o valor de seus serviços, de maneira a acompanhem as inovações tecnológicas. / Over the last years some reflections related to rapid changes in scientific, technological, political, educational and social areas have arisen due to technological innovations. This dissertation aims to study, identify and systematize the main ideas that guide and configure the management of public universities libraries specifically regarding to technological innovations. As specific objectives of the research includes the comprehension of how social medias integrate to information politics; verify how libraries of the Universities os USP/Ribeirão Preto and UNESP/Marília use social media and how they are exploited; verify the main thechnological policies and resources used by these libraries; understand the importance of social media to these information units; compare the technological resources and information policies present in these units. With the intention of verifying the differences and similarities among the selected units the comparison method was chosen to be used in this analysis. This dissertation was based on bibliografical surveys and the development of a comparative table based on the studies of Lubisco (2011) on issues that would probably have greatest impact on university libraries of 2010 and França (2015). From the obtained results it was identified the adaptation of university libraries regarding the uses of social medias to better meet the informational needs of their users. Planning the informational unit, visualize the future, estabilish the way to reach the proposed objectives are possiblities, that can contribute to managers and set the libraries on the administrative context of Universities, considering their relevance and service values in a way they keep up with technological innovations.
