Previous issue date: 2005 / Resumo: A incorporação das TICs é um desafio para os profissionais em educação, motivo pelo qual acompanhei as situações de uso da informática no contexto de formação e no contexto de trabalho de professoras das séries iniciais do ensino fundamental que fizeram o Curso Normal Superior Veredas, desenvolvido pela Secretaria de Educação do Estado de Minas Gerais por intermédio da FAE/UFMG. Com este estudo, pretendo identificar as dificuldades de utilização da informática pelas professoras e a origem dessas dificuldades. Na primeira parte deste trabalho, situo as possíveis relações entre tecnologia e a educação, com o intuito de qualificar a discussão sobre novas tecnologias ou inovações tecnológicas e enfatizo as possibilidades da EAD e do uso de ambientes virtuais de aprendizagem, apesar do uso desigual dos avanços e possibilidades tecnológicas. Situo o campo da informática educativa veiculado pelas políticas educacionais com o propósito de possibilitar a incorporação das TICs no campo educacional. Na segunda parte, desenvolvo uma pesquisa exploratória, empírica, utilizando abordagem qualitativa. Analiso a utilização da informática pelas professoras no espaço da formação e o uso dos laboratórios de informática no espaço da atuação, por meio de entrevistas, questionários e observações. Dessas análises emerge a caracterização da experiência estudada. Finalizo, considerando que a dificuldade de utilização da informática pelas professoras surge quando suas necessidades não são atendidas e nem as possibilidades dos contextos educativos são efetivadas / Abstract: The incorporation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to the educational practice has been a challenge posed to education professionals, and that is the reason why I observed the conditions under which the computer is used in the contexts of the qualification and actual work of teachers in charge of the initial grades of the elementary school. Those teachers had attended the Curso Normal Superior Veredas ¿ Veredas Teaching Course ¿ designed by the Minas Gerais State Secretary of Education and offered by the Faculty of Education of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (FAE/UFMG). With this study I intend to identify the difficulties that teachers have in using the computer as well as the sources of such difficulties. In the first section of this work I discuss the relations between technology and education aiming at qualifying the discussion about new technologies or technological innovations and I emphasize the possibilities offered by distance learning and the use of cyber learning environments despite the unequal use of technological advances and possibilities. I also discuss the field of educational computing as proposed in the educational policies with the objective of facilitating the incorporation of the ICT to education. In the second section of the work I develop a piece of exploratory and empirical research, using a qualitative approach. Through interviews, questionnaires and observation I analyze the teachers¿ use of computing both in the contexts of their qualification and work. That analysis appear the description of experience in the focus.
