Previous issue date: 1998 / Resumo: O trabalho procura aprofundar a questão da afetividade da professora do deficiente mental, esclarecendo os fenômenos que interagem de forma significativa no encontro de sala de aula. O questionamento central da pesquisa é a subjetividade da professora, sua construção afetiva, revelada em sua própria história de vida e na sua ação profissional. O trabalho discute a interação no processo educacional, tanto ligada à circunstâncias da instituição como às trocas entre a professora e os alunos com deficiência mental. Foi tomado como referencial teórico a psicanálise, pela ênfase dada à construção afetiva na personalidade do sujeito e a teoria psicogenética para maior compreensão do processo ensino-aprendizagem. A pesquisa foi realizada segundo o paradigma da metodologia qualitativa, usando relatos de história de vida de professoras da APAE de Uberaba, MG. Após estágio de observação na entidade e questionário de sondagem com sujeitos interessados na investigação do tema. Foram levantadas três categorias de análise: 1. A construção da subjetividade do ser mulher; 2. A mulher como mobilizadora do crescimento do outro; 3. A educadora de uma demanda especial. A autora conclui que a construção da afetividade da mulher/professora, reflete diretamente em sua vida profissional e defende um espaço onde esta educadora tenha maior probabilidade de se construir, aproveitando os desafios diários em sala de aula / Abstract: The research is devoted to emotional development of teachers working with persons with mental retardation. Chapters are focused on issues of whether teachers - pupil interaction in classroom is related to the teachers constructed subjectivity. The author assessed a group of teachers working in the Mental Health institution, called AP AE (Parents and Friends of Mental Retardation People Association) in Uberaba, MG, Brazil, interested in collaborated with research. The main objective of the study was to understand the life history of the teachers, exploring significant events of their childhood, adolescence and the family environment and education, connecting that to their career choice of working with mental retardation education. The theoretical framework the problem are the psychoanalysis of Freud for understands the teachers emotional development and the Piaget cognitive theory to approach the teaching-learning process The research followed the qualitative methodology paradigm, using the history of life us strategy of collecting data and the qualitative analysis and interpretation in the evaluation process The main findings of the research was: the traditional female education of the teachers reveled reinforcement on passivity and dependency and value the sensitive behavior; the teachers perception of themselves us nurturing persons, responsible for the growth of others; the teachers success to work with mental retardation persons was related to an openness of mind, coming from positive emotional experiences in the development. Concluding the author recommended programs of support for those teachers, where they can revue and reconstructed their emotional life to improve their interaction with the mental retardation persons / Mestrado / Psicologia da Educação / Mestre em Educação
