Previous issue date: 2003 / Resumo: A educação formal assumiu historicamente o papel de formação do ser humano em três dimensões fundamentais: formar a pessoa, articulando-se com as demais instituições sociais, que estruturam nossa civilização e cultura; formar o cidadão, para compreender o tempo, espaço e sociedade onde vive e atua e formar o profissional, numa sociedade pautada pelo trabalho. A presente pesquisa buscou compreender como se constrói a cidadania e a formação dos cidadãos na cidade, definindo as principais representações e vivências do aluno no seu processo de construção da mesma. Para compreender este processo, tomamos o microssistema do quarteirão como unidade síntese dos conflitos e representações da cidade. As observações e pesquisas do cotidiano foram relacionadas com a história da cidade e as possibilidades de intervenção no microespaço urbano (quarteirão) habitado pelo cidadão. A idéia de que a relação cidadão-cidade é construída historicamente fez emergir deste estudo diretrizes teórico-metodológicas para a organização do projeto político-pedagógico da escola pela via da interdisciplinaridade. Para compreender as referências teóricas, adotamos o materialismo histórico como referencial metodológico. Dessa forma, emergem deste estudo algumas diretrizes metodológicas para a construção de um projeto pedagógico para escolas que, ao dialogar com a cidade, aproxime o cidadão do seu espaço urbano, despertando para a reorganização deste espaço, resgatando as relações entre cidadãos e provocando mudanças de comportamento. Consideramos que a vivência e atuação social dos alunos, como sujeitos pesquisadores e cidadãos participantes, no processo de apreender as contradições da cidade torna-se a matriz metodológica da consciência ética, estética e política dos estudantes. Ao apreender a realidade da cidade, no estudo de suas contradições, os alunos preparam-se para atuar emancipatoriamente em seu tempo e espaço / Abstract: The formal education historically assumed the role of formation of the person human being in three basic dimensions: to form the person, articulating itselt with the other social institutions that give structure our civilization and culture, to form the citizen, to understand the time, space and society where it lives and acts and to form the professional, in a society guided by the work. The present research looked for understanding how the citizenship is built and the formation of the citizens in the city, defining the main representations and experiences of the in its process of construction of the citizenship. To undertand this process, we took the mircossistem of the block as synthesis unit of the conflicts and representations of the city. The comments and research of the daily one had been based the history of the city and the possibilities of intervention on the urban microspace(block) inhabited by the citizen. The idea of that the relation citizen-city is built historically made to emerge from this study theoretical-methodologic lines of direction for the organization of the pedagogical politican project of the school by the interdisciplinarity. To understand the theoretical references, we adopted the historical materialism as methodological guideline. This way, some methodologic lines of direction for the construction of a pedagogical project for schools emerge of this study that, when dialoguing with the city, the citizen of its urban space approaches, awaking for reorganization of this space, rescuing the relations of the citizens and provoking behavior changes. We consider that the experience and social performance of the pupils, as searching citizens and participant citizens, in the process to leran the contradictions of the city becomes the methodologic source of the ethical conscience, aesthetic and politics of the students.
