Previous issue date: 1987 / Resumo: Este trabalho é uma investigação sobre a natureza do diálogo e suas possibilidades de ocorrência. Inicia-se por uma crítica a concepções de diálogo que o identificam com o processo de enunciação, ou que o condicionam a circunstâncias extralingüísticas. Em conseqüência dessa crítica, o diálogo foi definido como uma qualidade semântica da enunciação, que expressa o ponto de equilíbrio de poder da palavra no seu interior. Para caracterizar tal ponto, foi construido um modelo de enunciação, pelo qual se representam sua estrutura e dinâmica. Trata-se de um esquema que reproduz a articulação semântica do eu e do tu, a partir do contexto lingüístico que estabelecem, caracterizado como não-pessoa pela forma ele. A ocorrência ou não do diálogo decide-se na interação semântica dos dois níveis pragmáticos da estrutura triangular eu-tu/ele. Com base nesse modelo, foi possível desenvolver uma hipótese metodológica, a partir da qual constituíram-se instrumentos de análise. Para comprovar essa hipótese, realizou-se a análise de uma relação enunciativa e propuseram-se padrões possíveis de enunciaçao / Abstract: This study aims at investigatíng both the nature of the dialogue and its possibilitíes of occurrence. Firstly, critícisms are advanced in respect to conceptions of the dialoque which identify it with the process of enunciation, or which make the dialogue contingent upon extralinguistic
circumstances. Consequently, the dialogue has been defined as a semantic qualíty of enunciatíon, which establishes a compromise in the power of the words actually used. In order to represent this, a model of énunciati.on has been conceived that serves the purpose of expressing the structure and the functioning of the dialogue. The framework reproduces the semantic articulation of "eu" and "tu", from the perspective of the linguístíc context thence set up, which is characterized as non-person, through the form "ele". Occurrence or nonoccurrence of the dialogue are determined within the semantic interaction between the two pragmatic levels of the triangular structure "eu-et/ele"- i.e., the discoursive level and the level that arises from linguistic action. A methodological hypothesis has been developed ba.ed upon this model, so that instruments of analysis could be proposed. Wíth the intention of proving this hypothesis valid, an analysis of an enunciative relationship has been applied, and possible patterns of enunciation have been determined. / Doutorado / Doutor em Ciências
