Previous issue date: 2009 / Resumo: A presente pesquisa tem como objetivo o estudo da produção cênica de Dercy Gonçalves, uma das mais populares comediantes brasileiras. Estendendo-se do teatro de revista e de comédia para o cinema e a televisão e chegando depois de quase um século de atividades às mídias digitais como ícone de um tipo específico de humor, essa produção não foi até hoje devidamente aferida pela crítica e historiografia das artes cênicas no país. Tal desinteresse denuncia, no mínimo, a existência de lapsos entre a teoria e a prática, a partir dos quais melhor se pode compreender tanto a importância do discurso dialógico ou paródico para a sobrevivência da cena popular, quanto a trama entre popular e erudito que malgrado as pretensões oficiais, sempre caracterizou o teatro brasileiro, explicando inclusive a dessacralização que permeia suas expressões mais genuínas, das comédias de costume ao teatro "inteligente" que nas últimas décadas do século XX se impôs no panorama internacional. Encontrada nas estratégias cênicas da comediante em sua forma mais radical, ou seja, em procedimentos de carnavalização e realismo grotesco, o que já justifica seu atávico desconcerto com a oficialidade, a paródia é, conseqüentemente, o conceito emergente no estudo. Como canto paralelo ou cena que se enuncia sempre "à sombra" de outra, com a qual se identifica e simultaneamente se alterna, sugere através do caso em exame a urgência e os prazeres de descobrir, à luz corrosiva das vertentes populares, a pluralidade e o hibridismo que fecundam os palcos nativos. / Abstract: The present research aims to study the scenic production of Dercy Goncalves, one of the most popular Brazilian comedians. Extending from the revue and comedy theater to the cinema and the television and coming after nearly a century of activities to the digital media as an icon of a specific type of humor, this production has not been properly measured by the critics and historiography until now. The neglect, to say the least, denounces gaps between theory and practice in the panorama officially traced to drama in the country, from which we can better understand both the importance of dialogic or parodic speech for the survival of the popular scene and the weft between popular and scholarly which, despite the official claims, has always characterized the Brazilian scene, explaining inclusively the tradition of unsacredness that permeates its most genuine expressions, from the custom comedies to the "smart" drama that integrated her, in the twentieth century, into the international panorama. Found in the scenic strategies of the comedian in its most radical form, namely in procedures of carnivalization and grotesque realism, which has justified its atavistic uneasiness with the accepted/canonical standards, the parody is, consequently, the emerging concept in the study. As a parallel chant or scene that always enunciates "in the shadow" of another, with which it simultaneously identifies and switches, suggests, through the case under consideration, the urgency and the pleasures of discovering, by the corrosive light of the popular aspects, the plurality and hybridism which fertilize the native stages. / Doutorado / Doutor em Artes
