Previous issue date: 2012 / Resumo: A pesquisa nos remete à discussão sobre o (re) conhecimento de temas e abordagens geocientíficas nos Estudos do Meio, nos conteúdos programáticos e nas práticas pedagógicas das professoras no ensino fundamental I. A presente pesquisa investigou as contribuições das Geociências nos Estudos do Meio desenvolvidos na Escola de Aplicação da FEUSP/São Paulo e a formação das professoras tendo como proposta a superação do modelo tradicional de ensino, baseado na fragmentação do conhecimento e, assim, contribuindo para promover a integração curricular. Para isso foram analisados os Estudos do Meio, os cadernos de campo e as relações dessa metodologia de ensino com os conteúdos em Geociências, com os conhecimentos das professoras e com o plano político pedagógico da escola. A formação de um Grupo de Estudos em Geociências e Educação Ambiental proporcionou, por meio da pesquisa-ação, o (re)conhecimento e inserção de conteúdos em Geociências no currículo e nos Estudos do Meio, e mudanças nas práticas pedagógicas. As abordagens realizadas nos 3°, 4º e 5º anos do Ensino Fundamental I contribuíram para a reorganização dos conteúdos programáticos e o despertar para um olhar geocientífico para o currículo. Contribuiu-se, desta forma para desvelar a importância do ensino das Geociências e as possibilidades de mudanças curriculares para promover o ensino contextualizado e integrado desde as séries iniciais, atendendo à proposta do Plano Político Pedagógico da escola / Abstract: The research takes us to a the make about the understating (acknowledgement) of geoscientific thems and approaches in the environment studies, in the programmatic contents and in the pedagogical practices of teachers from fundamental I teaching the present research investigated the contributions of Geosciences to the environment studies developed at the Escola de Aplicação FEUSP Sao Paulo and the education of teachers, with the purpose of over coming the traditional education model based on the fragmentation of knowledge, and thus contributing to the curricula integration. For this, the environment studies, the field notebooks and the relationship of that education methodology with the geosciences contents, the teachers' knowledge and the shool's pedagogical political plan were analyzed. The formation of one group of geosciences studies and environmental education provided, through the research action, the acknowledgement and insertion of geosciences contents in the curriculum and in the environment studies, as well as changing to the pedagogical practices. The approaches carried out in the 3rd, 4th and 5th grades of fundamental I teaching contributed to the reorganization of programmatic contents and the awakening to a geoscientific look over the curriculum. In this sense, it added to exposing the importance of geosciences education and the possibilities of curricular changes to promote a contextualized and integrated education since the initial grades, in a response in the shool's pedagogical political plan / Mestrado / Ensino e Historia de Ciencias da Terra / Mestre em Ensino e Historia de Ciencias da Terra
