Previous issue date: 2002 / Resumo: A disseminação do uso de substâncias psicoativas emerge no momento atual como uma problemática complexa e crescente. Diante das diversas questões que envolvem as causas da drogadição, os métodos usuais da ciência médica e epidemiológica têm se mostrado insuficientes, principalmente pelo fato de se tratar de uma população marginalizada. Trazendo uma revisão teórica das transformações ocorridas no pensamento científico, a partir de uma contextualização histórica dentro dos modelos arqueológicos de Foucault, sinaliza-se a influência e a contribuição da racionalidade na exclusão do indivíduo dependente químico, e nas contradições das abordagens preventivas sobre a drogadição. Considerando que as conotações socioculturais exercem marcante influência nas motivações para o uso destas substâncias, o que requer uma inserção mais direta no campo de pesquisa, deu-se destaque aos modernos métodos antropológicos que priorizam as questões culturais e a subjetividade do indivíduo dependente químico. Uma vez determinados os referenciais de análise neste contexto, esta pesquisa objetivou conhecer a colaboração científica contemporânea da Enfermagem na temática da prevenção ao uso e abuso de drogas, e se esta categoria profissional em seus trabalhos científicos tem se utilizado de métodos que permitam a escuta do Outro, o principal objeto da assistência. Através de um recorte na história intelectual da Enfermagem, utilizando o referencial teórico da História das Mentalidades, expomos o perfil das idéias dos profissionais de Enfermagem referidos nos resumos de trabalhos acadêmicos e científicos publicados nos catálogos do Cepen (Centro de Estudos e Pesquisa em Enfermagem), e nos livros de resumos de eventos específicos: CBEn (Congresso Brasileiro de Enfermagem) eno VI Encontro de Pesquisadores em Saúde Mental. A análise revela que a Enfermagem se insere nesta temática de maneira evolutiva, e sua produção científica acompanha as revoluções da ciência, demonstrando por meio de suas idéias estar aberta à introdução de um novo paradigma que surge em sintoma com fatores socioculturais, nos quais o exercício da cidadania plena pode ser praticado numa ética de interlocução e interdisciplinaridade / Abstract: The dissemination of the use of psychoactive substances emerges at this time as a complex and rising problem. Facing the many questions that involve the causes of drug addiction, the usual clínical scientific and epidemiological methods have shown to be insufficient, especially because it deals with a marginalized population. Revising the transformation's theory of the scientific way of thinking, based on a historical contextualization within the Foucault archeological models, point out the influence and contribution of the rationality in the exclusion of the chemical dependant person, and also in the contradictions of the preventative approaches regarding drug-addiction. Considering that the socio-cultural connotations have a marked influence on the motivation for the use ofthese substances, and that it requires a deeper insertion in the field ofresearch, this paper emphasizes the modero anthropological methods, which prioritize the cultural questions and the subjectivity ofthe chemical dependant individual. Once the analysis referential is determined in this context, this research targeted to find out the contemporary scientific collaboration ofthe Nursing profession on the topic ofprevention ofthe use of drugs, and if this professional category in its scientific work has utilized methods that allows the "patient hearing", the principal object of assistance. Through a cut on the intellectual history of the Nursing profession, utilizing the methodology of analysis ofthe contents and the technique of the thematic analysis, the profile of the ideas of the Nursing professionals is exposed and are referred to in the summaries ofthe academic and scientific works published in the index ofthe Cepen (Centro de Estudos e Pesquisa em Enfermagem), and in the summary books of specific scientific events like: CBEn (Congresso Brasileiro de Enfermagem), in the VI Encontro de Pesquisadores em Saúde Mental. The analysis reveals that the Nursing inserts itself in this thematic in an evolutionary way and its scientific production accompanies science's revolution, showing through its ideas that it is open to the introduction of a new paradigm that rises in tune with socio-cultural factors, where the full citizenship can be practiced within an ethical dialogue and in an interdisciplinary way / Mestrado / Mestre em Enfermagem
