Previous issue date: 2001 / Resumo: Este trabalho propõe-se a identificar quantos e quais são os centros de formação e treinamento em Neurologia Infantil existentes em nosso país, suas particularidades e conhecer as diferenças porventura existentes relacionadas ao fato do serviço ser ou não credenciado pela Comissão Nacional de Residência Médica. Outro objetivo é estabelecer o motivo pelo qual Instituições com Residência Médica em Neurologiá e em Pediatria, que, em tese, apresentam as condições necessárias, não oferecem residência em Neurologia Infantil. Trata também do Curso de Aprimoramento em Neurologia Infantil para profissional não médico da área da saúde, ministrado pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas, avaliando as expectativas dos componentes de duas turmas, no início e no final do curso. Na parte inicial são tecidas considerações
sobre o ensino médico e suas características, apresentado breve relato sobre o início da assistência médica e da fundação das escolas de Medicina no Brasil, além da história da Neurologia e da Neurologia Infantil no nosso país. É abordado o ensino da Neurologia no curso de graduação médica e ressaltada a importância dos cursos de Residência Médica
no preparo de profissionais capacitados e atualizados em sua área de atuação, frente os novos conhecimentos que ocorrem, dia a dia, na Medicina. No final são apresentados os resultados específicos das pesquisas propostas e considerações relativas a cada segmento pesquisado / Abstract: This work intends to identify how many and which are the formation and training centers in Infantile Neurology in our country and its particularities. Besides, it tries to find out whether or not there are differences between the services which are accreditated by the National Commission of Medical Residence and the services that are not accreditated by this Commission. Another purpose is to find out why the Institutions that have medical residence in Neurology and in Pediatrics do not have Infantile Neurology residence even though they have the necessary conditions to offer it. It is also about the
improvement course in Infantile Neurology for non doctor professional of the health area that is taught by the Universidade Estadual de Campinas. The expectations of the components of 2 groups in the beginning and in the end of the course will be evaluated. In the initial part, are woven considerations about the medical teaching and its characteristics. It is presented brief report about the beginning of the medical attendance and of the foundation of the medical schools in Brazil. In adittion to this, it is presented small history of the Neurology and of the Infantile Neurology in our country. It is approached the teaching of Neurology in medical graduation course and it is stood out the importance of the Medical Residence courses to prepare qualified and modemized professionals in their area of performance front the new knowledge in Medicine.
