Previous issue date: 2002 / Resumo: Não informado / Abstract: Dogs were anesthetized and internally monitored through dissection and catheterization of the left axilar artery ( pressure control MAP, collection of arterial blood pressure) , of the left jugular vein with Swan-Gans catheter positioned at a branch of the pulmonary artery (verification of CVP, RAP, PAP, PCWP, CO, thermodillution and collection of mixed venal blood), of left femoral artery and introduction (Ringer), of left femural vein and introduction of intra-aortic catheter with balloon at infra-diaphragmatic level, oro-tracheal intubation to offer inhalatory anesthetics, make an analysis of expiratory gases (Fex halog) and the capinometry, pulse oxymetry, continuous electrocardiography (DII), installation of trans-esophagic thermometer. After a period of rest and stabilization, animals were randomly chosen and a scenario of distal ischemia was provoked for thirty minutes by aorta occlusion followed by reperfusion by liberation of blood flow for another thirty minutes (balloon was emptied). The anesthetics Isoflurano e Sevoflurano were studied through less or more severe hemodynamic responses observed in both groups of animals. Besides the directly computed hemodynamic variables, the CI, SI, SV, SVR, PVR were calculated, as well as the levels of labour of the ventricles (LVSWI and RVSWI). The data obtained was statistically compared between both anesthetics, during and after artery occlusion. The values of available literature were raised and related to our studies for a correlation. Such results showed that the methodology applied in the study is useful to observe the action of the inhalatory anesthetics in ischemia and reperfusion situations. A protective effect of the halogenated in the injured tissues was noticed. This experiment suggests that Isoflurano causes less hemodynamic alterations in dogs organisms subjected to ischemia followed by reperfusion than Sevoflurano / Mestrado / Mestre em Cirurgia
