Previous issue date: 2018-08-24 / The discourse of the colonizer basically opposes two subjects: one is the subject possessing knowledge, "superior" to others and in the right to explore the lands and or peoples with whom he establishes contact and the other is the "inferior", who does not possess the knowledge, not practicing the same religion, not living in a organized society according to the molds of the colonizer, are literally others, without fait, without law and without king. The presente dissertation analyzes the discourse of the colonizer present in the letter written by Pero Vaz de Caminha and sent to King D. Manuel in 1500 B.C. It is inserted in the Line of Research Language, Literature and Society: discourse in communication, religious discourse, pedagogic discourse, in the Graduate Program in Letter of Mackenzie Presbiterian University. It uses the theoretical-methodological assumptions of French Line Discourse Analyses from conceptions presented by ALTHUSSER (1970), FIORIN (1998, 2014, 2015, 2016), FOUCAULT (2008), MAINGUENEAU (2013), ORLANDI (2008, 2011, 2012, 2015) e PÊCHEAUX (2014). It seeks to observer the discourse of the colonizer in the sixteenth century, answering the question as to why Caminha appears as an writer focused on the people and not so specifically on earth, reflecting to answer this question about the subject's role in the relationship between the enunciator and the enunciate as well as the search for the analysis to reveal the ideological and discursive formations that are present in the letter. / O discurso do colonizador opõe basicamente dois sujeitos: um é o sujeito detentor do saber, "superior" aos outros e no direito de explorar as terras e/ou os povos com os quais estabelece contato e o Outro é o "inferior", quem não possui os conhecimentos, não pratica a mesma religião, não vive em uma sociedade organizada segundo os moldes do colonizador, são literalmente outros, sem fé, sem lei e sem rei. A presente dissertação analisa o discurso do colonizador presente na Carta escrita por Pero Vaz de Caminha e enviada ao rei D. Manuel em 1500 A.D. Está inserida na Linha de Pesquisa "Língua, literatura e sociedade: discurso na comunicação, discurso religioso, discurso pedagógico, discurso político" no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Letras da Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. Utiliza os pressupostos teórico-metodológicos da Análise do Discurso de linha francesa a partir das concepções apresentadas por ALTHUSSER (1970), FIORIN (1998, 2014, 2015, 2016), FOUCAULT (2008), MAINGUENEAU (2013), ORLANDI (2008, 2011, 2012, 2015) e PÊCHEAUX (2014). Procura observar o discurso do colonizador no século XVI, respondendo ao questionamento sobre por que Caminha se apresenta como escrivão focado no povo e não tão especificamente na terra, refletindo para responder a esse questionamento sobre o papel do sujeito na relação entre o enunciador e o enunciatário bem como busca a análise revelar as formações ideológicas e discursivas que estão presentes na Carta.
