Previous issue date: 2012-11-27 / Concerning the importance of work in contemporary society and its close link with the language, this research – of enunciative-discursive embasement – derives from one commercial company’s demand in Pelotas city (RS), which refers to the lack of employees involvement with their duties. As a main purpose, we analyze characteristics of the work activity in this company, in order to contribute to the (re) cognition of labor activity, considering the complexity of the relationship between I (the worker)/ others (colleagues, superiors, rules etc.). This purpose is distributed in three specific goals aimed at verifying: a) how appears the discussion of standards in the activity of the worker, observing aspects of constituted knowledge and invested knowledge; b) how is the use of one by oneself and by others in this activity, c) how the individual engages with his work, noting dialogic relations that emerge from verbalizations about work. We adopted as theoretical support, the dialogic theory that, in the language studies, interfaces with the studies on labor, in particular the ergology. Methodologically, this qualitative research is developed in two stages: individual interview and field observation. For the first, we interviewed eight employees of the company who have volunteered; in the second stage, we observed two sectors where two volunteer subjects were working at the time. For the analysis, we chose four of the eight interviews, because they were made by workers of the stock, a very important sector for the development of business activities. We analyzed these interviews based on notions developed in the theoretical framework, especially those related to the dialogical relations, interaction and statement, in the ambit of language studies, as well as the rules and renormalizations and the use of one by oneself and by others in the area of the studies about work. We found, by analyzing the speeches of employees in interviews, understood as language about the work, that the working environment in focus is characterized by complexity, heterogeneity and dynamism. In this perspective, we defend the thesis the worker must constantly reflect on what he does, that is, he needs to observe and question himself, trying to understand his role in the labor environment in which he appears to be able to get involved with his activities and feeling integrated in it. Providing space for workers to verbalize about their labor activity, we hope to have contributed to that they, from reflection on their practice, were able to recognize themselves as active, participants and (co) manufacturers subjects, besides they can understand the work context more broadly. We also wish the research results can help managers to better know the workers and the activities they do in the company. If new spaces of saying are created to and with the worker, both involved can benefit from the construction of a more dialogical and human environment. / Considerando a importância do trabalho na sociedade contemporânea e sua estreita ligação com a linguagem, esta pesquisa, de base enunciativo-discursiva, parte da demanda de uma empresa comercial da cidade de Pelotas (RS), a qual se refere à falta de envolvimento dos trabalhadores com o seu fazer. Como objetivo principal, buscamos analisar características da atividade de trabalho nessa empresa, de modo a contribuir para o (re)conhecimento da atividade laboral, considerando a complexidade da relação eu (trabalhador)/outro (colegas, chefia, prescritos etc.). Desmembramos esse objetivo em três objetivos específicos que visam verificar: a) como aparece o debate de normas na atividade do trabalhador, observando aspectos dos saberes constituídos e dos saberes investidos; b) como se dá o uso de si por si e pelos outros nessa atividade; c) como o indivíduo se envolve com seu trabalho, observando relações dialógicas que aparecem nas verbalizações sobre o trabalho. Adotamos, como suporte teórico, a teoria dialógica, nos estudos da linguagem, em interface com os estudos sobre o trabalho, em especial, a ergologia. Metodologicamente, desenvolvemos esta pesquisa qualitativa em duas etapas: a entrevista individual e a observação de campo. Para a primeira, entrevistamos oito funcionários da empresa, que se apresentaram como voluntários; na segunda etapa, observamos dois setores em que dois sujeitos voluntários estavam atuando no momento. Para a análise, escolhemos quatro das oito entrevistas, por elas terem sido feitas aos trabalhadores do estoque, um setor de bastante importância para o desenvolvimento das atividades da empresa. Procedemos à análise dessas entrevistas a partir de noções desenvolvidas no referencial teórico, principalmente aquelas ligadas às relações dialógicas, à interação e ao enunciado, no campo dos estudos da linguagem, e às normas e renormalizações e ao uso de si por si e pelo outro, no campo dos estudos sobre o trabalho. Verificamos, pela análise dos discursos dos trabalhadores nas entrevistas, entendidas como linguagem sobre o trabalho, que o meio laboral em foco caracteriza-se pela complexidade, dinamicidade e heterogeneidade. Nessa perspectiva, defendemos a tese de que o trabalhador precisa refletir constantemente sobre o que faz, ou seja, ele necessita observar-se, questionar-se, tentando entender seu papel no meio laboral em que está inserido para poder se envolver com as suas atividades e se sentir integrado nesse meio. Proporcionando espaço para que os trabalhadores verbalizassem sobre o seu fazer, esperamos ter contribuído para que eles, a partir da reflexão sobre suas práticas, tivessem a possibilidade de se reconhecerem como sujeitos ativos, integrantes e (co)construtores, podendo compreender a situação de trabalho de maneira mais ampla. Desejamos ainda que os resultados da investigação possam auxiliar os gestores a conhecerem melhor os trabalhadores e as atividades que desempenham na empresa. Se forem criados novos espaços de dizer para e com o trabalhador, ambos os envolvidos podem se beneficiar com a construção de um ambiente mais dialógico e humano.
