sold one - furthermore, this magazine presents a discursive position which is close to
rich people of Brazil. In this dissertation, we analyzed the covers of this magazine that
were published between June 19, 2013 and June 26, 2013, their editorials and two
articles in order to understand the apparent change occurred in Veja. The editions used
as the corpus of this research have, on their covers, the protests which happened in the
whole country of June of last year. The initial reason of these protests was a claim
against the rise of bus tickets, but it was an opportunity to claim also against wider
themes like: slave off corruption, investment in the World Cup 2014, homophobia, and
other causes that a big part of Brazilian people have been condemning. So, in this
research we follow the theoretical background from discursive analysis of pecheuxtiana
affiliation, and we aim to analyze the syntactical constructions of the headlines, the
choice of images, the disposition and the side of the letters, the photos and the chosen
colors in order to answer the following questions: What conditions of production cross
over the build of these covers? What factors unleash the discursive change of the covers
of the two editions? How can we realize this turn in terms of linguistic materiality? The
magazine, through the cover of the edition published in June 19, 2013, clearly
demonstrates itself in opposition to the protests. In the end, we sought to understand if
these manifestos that happened in June of 2013 constituted themselves as discursive
events or enunciative events. / Veja caracteriza-se por ser uma das revistas do grupo Abril editorial com maior número
de vendas - a revista de circulação nacional mais vendida - além disso, caracteriza-se
também, por apresentar um posicionamento discursivo identificado com as bandeiras
das elites do nosso país. Nesta dissertação, analisamos as capas das edições publicadas
nos dias 19 e 26 de junho de 2013, os editoriais dessas duas edições, bem como duas
reportagens, buscando compreender a aparente mudança discursiva ocorrida na Veja. As
edições em estudo possuem como matéria de capa os protestos que surgiram em todo o
país no início de junho do referido ano. Movidos, primeiramente, por reivindicações
contra o aumento das passagens, esses protestos se estenderam para temas mais amplos
como combate à corrupção, aos investimentos bilionários na Copa do Mundo de 2014, à
homofobia, entre outras causas que indignam boa parte do país. Sendo assim, neste
estudo, partindo do arcabouço teórico da análise de discurso (AD) de filiação
pêcheuxtiana, propomo-nos a analisar as construções sintáticas das manchetes, as
escolhas das imagens, a disposição e o tamanho das letras, as fotos e as cores
escolhidas, buscando responder os seguintes questionamentos: Que condições de
produção perpassam a construção dessas capas? Que fatores desencadearam a mudança
discursiva das capas entre as duas edições? Como podemos perceber essa virada
discursiva na materialidade linguística? Como a revista caracteriza os participantes do
Movimento Passe-Livre e como se utiliza da ironia para descaracterizar os objetivos do
MPL? Por fim, buscamos compreender se essas manifestações de junho de 2013 se
constituíram como acontecimentos discursivos ou enunciativos.
