Previous issue date: 2017-02-13 / This work refers to the homeless population, which is composed of people living in a
situation of extreme poverty, living in the cities' streets and sidewalks, more than
often invisible to government and society. This social phenomenum has become
more visible due to both its growth and to the work performed by the organization
called "Movimento Nacional da População em Situação de Rua"- which translates
into National Movement of the Street Situation Population. The work presents a
theoretical review on this phenomenum, reporting its origin and current situation,
considering the social inequality generated by the exploration of the working classes
in the capitalist system as a weight factor of this condition. The group which is object
of this research is referred to its relationship with the business world and the
influence of stigma. Therefore, there is an analysis of the business world, which is
the central point, essential to this research. There are descriptions of the
ethimological origin, a study of capitalist production systems, and the social rights,
predicted as positive services provided by the State, among which is the right to work
and to human dignity. In sequence, it is vital to understand the influence of stigma in
the business world, and which its interference is in relation to the population in street
situation. Hence, it is important to go over the concept of stigmatization, analyzing its
characteristics and main consequences. Besides, there are considerations on the
rights of the city and to the space that this group takes up in the cities. With this
objective, the scientific investigation was executed with a qualitative, dialetical-critical
approach, using a study case to answer the following key-question: What is the
interference of the society's point of view over the population in street situation in
regards to their relationships in the business world? A stigma from the society
towards the street situation population was verified, and that this stigma influences in
the way these people live their lives in several aspects, including their relationships in
the business world. / Este trabalho versa sobre a população em situação de rua, a qual é composta por
pessoas em condições de extrema pobreza, vivendo nas ruas e calçadas da cidade,
tornando-se, muitas vezes, invisíveis para os governantes e para a sociedade. Esse
grupo social vem ganhando visibilidade em razão de seu crescimento e também de
sua organização por meio do Movimento Nacional da População em Situação de
Rua. Esta pesquisa apresenta uma revisão teórica sobre esse segmento
populacional, relatando sua origem e atual situação, considerando a desigualdade
social gerada pela exploração das classes trabalhadoras no sistema capitalista como
fator de peso dessa condição. A fatia delimitada nesta pesquisa diz respeito ao
grupo em questão e sua relação com o mundo do trabalho e a influência do estigma.
Para isso, apresenta–se uma análise do mundo do trabalho, o qual é ponto central,
essencial para esta pesquisa. Fala-se de sua origem etimológica, dos sistemas de
produção capitalista e dos direitos sociais, previstos como prestações positivas do
Estado, dentre os quais está o direito ao trabalho e à dignidade da pessoa humana.
Na sequência, fundamental é compreender qual a influência do estigma no mundo
do trabalho, e qual é a sua interferência em relação à população em situação de rua.
Importa, assim, conceituar estigmatização por meio da análise de quais sejam as
suas características e principais consequências. Além disso, são feitas
considerações sobre o direito à cidade e sobre o espaço que esse grupo ocupa nos
centros urbanos. Para isso, a investigação científica realizada com abordagem
qualitativa, dentro de um enfoque dialético-crítico, usou o estudo de caso para
responder à seguinte questão-chave: qual a interferência do olhar da sociedade
sobre a população em situação de rua no que se refere às relações no mundo do
trabalho? Constatou-se que há um estigma da sociedade para com a população em
situação de rua; estigma que influencia na forma como essas pessoas levam suas
vidas em diversos aspectos, inclusive em relação ao mundo do trabalho.
