Previous issue date: 2017-12-08 / This research tries to analyze part of the musical work of the band from. It problematizes the
function of musical satire within the horizon of political reopening in Brazil, at which time the
songs of the group translated relevant issues of the social, political, economic and cultural
order of the country. Pertaining to a plurality of languages, the band was not only restricted to
the musical, it was a kind of artistic collective that involved theatrical performance, humor,
cartoons and magazine production. The fusion of these elements, together with the need to
interpret the reality of the country, was presented as a new strategy of resistance against the
military regime. The goal was not only to make people laugh, it was to denounce, to open up,
to scandalize, to point out the problems of the country. This humor was for a cause, a service,
a social function. In the compositions, the choice of themes had a great influence of
journalism, the news was parodied almost instantly and brought to the lyrics. To delimit the
work, we went a path that extended between the years of 1979, first formation of the group,
until the year of 1985, height of the musical creation. The choice of this temporal cut is due to
the possibility of investigating the field of action of the band and the possible proximity with
the social movements that emerged during the period of redemocratization. The axis of
analysis focuses on the trajectory of the group and the first discs: Língua de Trapo (1982),
Sem Indiretas (1984), e Como é Bom Ser Punks (1985). / Esta pesquisa trata de analisar parte da obra musical da banda paulistana Língua de Trapo.
Problematiza a função da sátira musical dentro do horizonte de reabertura política no Brasil,
momento no qual as canções do grupo traduziram questões relevantes da ordem social,
política, econômica e cultural do país. Permeável a uma pluralidade de linguagens, a banda
não se restringia apenas ao musical, era uma espécie de coletivo artístico que envolvia
performance teatral, humor, cartum e produção de revistas. A fusão destes elementos,
juntamente com a necessidade de interpretar a realidade do país, apresentou-se como uma
nova estratégia de resistência contra o regime militar. O objetivo não era apenas fazer rir,
visava denunciar, escancarar, escandalizar, apontar os problemas do país. Este humor se
destinava a uma causa, prestava um serviço, cumpria uma função social. Nas composições, a
escolha dos temas tinha grande influência do jornalismo, as notícias eram parodiadas quase
que instantaneamente e trazidas para as letras. Para delimitar o trabalho, percorremos um
caminho que se estendeu entre os anos de 1979, primeira formação do grupo, até o ano de
1985, auge da criação musical. A escolha deste recorte temporal se deve a possibilidade de
investigar o campo de atuação da banda e as possíveis proximidades com os movimentos
sociais que emergiram durante o período de redemocratização. O eixo de análise se concentra
na trajetória do grupo e nos primeiros discos: Língua de Trapo (1982), Sem Indiretas (1984),
e Como é Bom Ser Punk (1985).
