forming a choir group as a complementary activity for high
school at Polivalente school in the city of Ponta Grossa, PR. The
specific objectives of this study are: a) to discuss the conception
of choir groups and the involvement of students in this practice,
b) present the documents of the music education policy in Paraná
State and check how the extracurricular practice of choir relates
to such a policy c) analyze how the "choir" activity can be
integrated to the music teaching in high school, and d) to observe
the social impact of the formation of a choir group in the school
community. This research is qualitative, and the method
employed here is the action research due to the interaction
among researcher, research subjects and school environment.
Data collection was conducted through semi-structured
interviews in the form of group discussions with students and
annotations in the researcher's field diary as well as images and
videos. The results show us the implications for the
implementation of a choir group with teenage students in a
public school as a learning environment and the role of them in
this process. / Este trabalho tem como objetivo principal analisar o processo de
formação de um coral como atividade complementar para o
ensino médio no Colégio Polivalente, na cidade de Ponta Grossa,
PR. Os objetivos específicos deste trabalho são: a) discutir a
concepção de coral e o envolvimento dos alunos nesta prática,
b) apresentar os documentos de políticas do ensino de música no
estado do Paraná e verificar de que maneira a prática coral
extracurricular se relaciona a tais políticas, c) analisar como a
atividade ?coral? pode se integrar ao ensino curricular de música
no ensino médio, e d) observar o impacto social da formação de
um coral na comunidade escolar. A pesquisa é de caráter
qualitativo e o método empregado é a pesquisa-ação. A coleta
de dados foi realizada através de entrevistas semiestruturadas em
forma de grupos de discussão com os alunos participantes e
anotações no diário de campo da pesquisadora, assim como
imagens e vídeos. Os resultados nos mostram as implicações
quanto à implantação de um coral com alunos adolescentes em
uma escola pública como ambiente de aprendizagem e o
protagonismo dos mesmos neste processo.
