Previous issue date: 2011-03-31 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / Prejudice and intolerance: a semiotic analysis of texts produced by indigenous students is a work of semiotic analysis whose objective was to investigate how prejudice and intolerance marks appear in written texts produced by students of the 9th year of the Municipal School Francisco Meireles, located in the municipal district of Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul, near the Indigenous Reservation Francisco Horta Barbosa. Sixteen texts, produced by 8 students, in daily situations of classroom, was the corpus for this study. For the analysis of these texts, it was looked for in the semiotic theory the theoretical frame to highlight the main prejudice and intolerance marks which those students face still today, in 2011, more than 20 years after the promulgation of the Federal Constitution that guarantees the respect to the cultural differences. Starting from those analyses, it is also possible to discuss aspects of the identity of those subjects, so many times silenced by the history of our country. In the municipal district of Dourados, in spite of the proximity between the urban zone and the Indigenous Reservation, it is visible how that population it is discriminated and the way this affects its life and its identity. / Preconceito e intolerância: uma análise semiótica de textos produzidos por alunos indígenas é um trabalho de análise semiótica cujo objetivo é investigar como aparecem as marcas de preconceito e intolerância nos textos escritos de alguns alunos do 9º ano da Escola Municipal Francisco Meireles, situada no Município de Dourados, Estado de Mato Grosso do Sul, ao lado da Reserva Indígena Francisco Horta Barbosa. Dezesseis textos, produzidos por 8 estudantes, em situações cotidianas de sala de aula, servem de corpus para esta pesquisa. Para tal análise, busca-se na teoria semiótica o aporte teórico para destacar as principais marcas de preconceito e de intolerância por que passam esses alunos ainda hoje, em 2011, mais de 20 anos depois de promulgada a Constituição Federal que garante o respeito às diferenças culturais. A partir dessas análises também é possível discutir aspectos da identidade desses sujeitos, tantas vezes silenciados pela história do nosso país. No Município de Dourados, apesar da proximidade entre a zona urbana e a Reserva Indígena, é visível como essa população é discriminada e como isso afeta sua vida e sua identidade.
