Previous issue date: 2010-03-08 / This research of analytic and bibliographic character is focused on the childhood subjects and
intends to point out some possible readings of Conversa de bois, a tale that integrates the
book Sagarana, and Campo geral/Miguilim, part of Corpo de baile, by João Guimarães Rosa,
as well as the cinematographic transposition of Campo Geral to the movie Mutum (2007), by
Sandra Kogut. Therefore, this dissetation attempts to the premiss of literary reading,
articulated to the theories of reception of literary texts by Hans Robert Jauss, Wolfgang Iser,
Vincent Jouve, Umberto Eco and Mikhail Bakhtin, to the analytic-interpretative reading of
these texts by Guimarães Rosa. And still, the research studies the sociological concept of
childhood from the European tradition, based on the authors Elizabeth Badinter and Philippe
Ariès, and on the Brazilian cultural context with Gilberto Freyre, and yet analyses Tiãozinho
and Miguilim's characters created by Guimarães Rosa precocious passageway from boy to
men, based on the theoretic purposes of Mircea Eliade. Finally, supported by the first
chapter's theories of reception/reading, and the sociological conceptions about the childhood
subject of the second chapter, as well as David Wark Griffith's cinema narrative technique, the
subjects approached by Guimarães Rosa in Campo Geral are analyzed, and retaken by the
cinematographic language perspective by Sandra Kogut, on the movie Mutum, in resume, on
the last chapter of this research, it is analyzed how the childhood configuration is captured by
this movie. In synthesis, it intends to analyze the childhood subject inside the tale Conversa
de bois and Campo Geral/Miguilim, from the perspective of Theory of Reception, the
sociological perspective of childhood concept, as well as the way that this subject is retaken
by the movie maker Sandra Kogut on the movie Mutum. / Esta pesquisa, de caráter analítico e bibliográfico, tem como foco a temática da infância e
objetiva apontar algumas possibilidades de leitura do conto Conversa de bois, que integra o
livro Sagarana, e da novela Campo geral/Miguilim, que integra a obra Corpo de baile, de
João Guimarães Rosa, bem como da transposição fílmica de Campo Geral para o filme
Mutum (2007), de Sandra Kogut. Portanto, a presente dissertação atém-se à práxis da leitura
literária, articulada às teorias sobre a recepção de textos literários de Hans Robert Jauss,
Wolfgang Iser, Vincent Jouve, Umberto Eco e Mikhail Bakhtin, à leitura analíticainterpretativa
dos referidos textos rosianos. E, ainda, a pesquisa visa o estudo do conceito
sociológico de infância, advindo da tradição europeia, respaldada nos autores Elizabeth
Badinter e Philippe Ariès, e no contexto cultural brasileiro em Gilberto Freyre, e ainda,
analisa-se o rito precoce de passagem de menino a homem de Tiãozinho e Miguilim
personagens de Guimarães Rosa , tendo por base os pressupostos teóricos de Mircea Eliade.
Finalmente, respaldando-se nas teorias de leitura/recepção do primeiro capítulo, nas
concepções sociológicas sobre o tema infância do segundo capítulo, bem como na técnica
narrativa do cinema de David Wark Griffith, analisa-se como os temas abordados por
Guimarães Rosa em Campo Geral, são retomados pela perspectiva da linguagem
cinematográfica por Sandra Kogut, no filme Mutum, ou seja, no último capítulo deste estudo,
analisa-se como é captada a configuração da infância no referido filme. Em síntese, objetivase
analisar a temática infância no conto Conversa de bois e na novela Campo Geral/Miguilim
a partir da perspectiva da teoria da recepção, da perspectiva sociológica do conceito de
infância, bem como a forma como esta temática é retomada pela cineasta Sandra Kogut no
filme Mutum.
