O Mestrado Profissional em Matemática em Rede Nacional (PROFMAT) é uma iniciativa pioneira da Sociedade Brasileira de Matemática (SBM), com o apoio de diversas instituições e induzida pela Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES). Esse programa de pós-graduação foi criado em 2011 visando atender os objetivos propostos na Política Nacional de Formação dos Profissionais da Educação Básica (PARFOR), no Programa de Mestrado Profissional para Qualificação de Professores da Rede Pública da Educação Básica (PROEB), no VI Plano Nacional de Pós-Graduação 2011-2020 (VI PNPG) e no Plano Nacional de Educação 2014-2024 (PNE). O PROFMAT tem como objetivo a formação continuada de professores, além de 1022585possibilitar a aproximação entre a educação básica e a pós-graduação, melhorando assim a qualidade da educação básica. Nesse sentido, essa pesquisa visa contextualizar e analisar as etapas e perspectivas desse mestrado, além de identificar quais objetivos do VI PNPG 2011-2020, do PNE e da SBM, o PROFMAT está alcançando. A metodologia utilizada foi a análise de políticas públicas. Os resultados alcançados indicam que o programa poderá favorecer o alcance de algumas metas do PNE, VI PNPG e SBM, mesmo que de modo limitado, ou, parcial. Além disso, apontam que o PROFMAT deve ser monitorado não apenas pela CAPES, que acompanha os programas de pós-graduação recomendados e reconhecidos no país, mas também por outros atores e em todos os níveis governamentais. De modo geral, o PROFMAT está respondendo aos anseios da sociedade, mas o monitoramento, que engloba acompanhamento e gestão, do programa torna-se etapa necessária, para que, quando for avaliado, os resultados obtidos sejam os mais apropriados para a educação. / The Professional Master Degree Program in Mathematics in National Network (PROFMAT) is a pioneering initiative of the Brazilian Mathematical Society (SBM), with the support of several universities and induced by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). This postgraduate program was created in 2011 to meet the objectives stipulated in the National Plan for Educating Primary and Secondary School Teachers (PARFOR), the Program for the Evaluation of Primary and Secondary Schools (PROEB), the VI National Plan of Graduate School 2011-2020 (VI PNPG) and the National Plan for Education 2014-2024 (PNE). The objective of PROFMAT is the continuous training of teachers, also enabling the approximation between basic and postgraduate education, thus improving the quality of basic education. In this sense, this research aims to contextualize and analyze the phases and perspectives of this master's degree, also identifying which objectives of PNPG 2011-2020, PNE and SBM, PROFMAT is reaching. The methodology used was analysis of public policies. The results indicate that the program may favor the achievement of some goals of PNE, VI PNPG and SBM, albeit limited or partial. In addition, they point out that PROFMAT should be monitored not only by CAPES, that monitors the recommended and recognized postgraduate programs in the country, but also by other entities and at all levels of government. In general, PROFMAT is responding to the wishes of society, but the monitoring of the program becomes a necessary step so that, when evaluated, the results obtained may be the most appropriate for education.
