Previous issue date: 2007 / This investigation aims to observe similarities and differences between the fictional and historical speeches, to determine the literary as a privileged space of creative realization. For its concretization, it re-visits the literature from Rio Grande do Sul, from its beginning to the present times and transits in some theoretical spheres which are fundamental: the relation between history and fiction, romance and politics; conceptions of allegory, by W. Benjamin, and of plurilinguism and polyphony, according to M. Bakhtin. The corpus chosen for the analysis is constituted by two brazilian romances, Incidente em Antares and Mês de cães danados, by the gaucho writers Erico Verissimo and Moacyr Scliar. These allegorical narratives redemension different data of critical moments in the History of Brazil and act on readers instigating polemic, reflexion and, I extent, the critical review of the mentioned political moments. / Esta investigação objetiva observar semelhanças e diferenças entre o discurso ficcional e o histórico, para determinar o literário como espaço privilegiado de realização criativa. Para sua concretização, revisita a literatura sul-rio-grandense de sua gênese à atualidade e transita por algumas esferas teóricas que lhe são fundamentais: relação entre história e ficção, romance e política; concepções de alegoria, segundo W. Benjamin, e de plurilingüismo e polifonia, conforme M. Bakhtin. O corpus escolhido para a análise constitui-se de dois romances brasileiros, Incidente em Antares e Mês de cães danados, de autoria dos escritores gaúchos Erico Verissimo e Moacyr Scliar, respectivamente. Essas narrativas, alegóricas, redimensionam diferentes dados de momentos cruciais da História do Brasil e agem sobre os leitores provocando polêmica, reflexão e, por extensão, a revisão crítica dos momentos políticos referidos.
