Magistro darbo tyrimo objektas – realybės transformavimas žiniasklaidoje Irako okupacijos tikslų pagrįstumo kontekste. Tikslas - išanalizuoti, kodėl pasirinktu atveju – Irako karo ir po jo vykusios krizės metu – realybė JAV žiniasklaidoje buvo ir yra transformuojama. Darbe keliama hipotezė: žiniasklaidoje pateikiama informacija apie Irako krizę yra neatitinkanti realijų, informacija yra nesąmoningai arba specialiai, pasitelkiant tam tikras politines priemones, transformuojama. Darbo uždaviniai: išsiaiškinti, ar ir kiek yra svarbi visuomenės nuomonė politinio proceso vyksmui bei kokią reikšmę politinio spektaklio formavime, kartu su žiniasklaida ir politinio elito veikimu, visuomenės nuomonė turi Vakarų pasaulyje ir Arabų šalyse bei, ar tai kečiasi karo / krizės atveju; išnagrinėti, kokios yra tikėtinos realybės transformavimo žiniasklaidoje priežastys ir kokios iš jų yra būdingiausios; nustatyti, ar vis labiau į viešumą kritikų iškeliami „užslėpti“ ketinimai Irake yra pagrįsti kaltinimai JAV Prezidentui ir jo administracijai, ar vis tik mitas; nustatyti, kokį vaidmenį JAV žiniasklaida įgavo JAV užsienio politikos formavimo procese „Irako politikos“ atžvilgiu; patvirtinti, kad visuomenės informavimo priemonėse pateikiama realybė Irako atveju buvo iškreipiama daugiausiai politinei valdžiai kontroliuojant išplaukiančią informaciją iš Irako; įrodyti, kad nors šiandien žinias JAV apie Iraką keičia rinkimai, žiniasklaida išlieka tokiu pat politiniu įrankiu siekiant pateikti... [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / The present situation in Iraq, namely the coalition-led multinational force operation The Iraqi Freedom, is difficult. Despite the efforts put in by the US and the coalition leadership, the bloodshed in the country has not been reduced. Endless battles in Iraq claim more and more American victims, which strengthens people’s discontent with the war and with the US led forces. Why is the situation there unstable? Why is the conflict not over? And why is the civil society not ready for democracy? This paper aims to see into the Iraqi crisis through the prism of the relation between the media and the US decision-makers, assuming, that media management is one of the major factors in the situation in Iraq today. The objective of the research of the master thesis is the reality transformation in the media in the aims context of the validity of the Iraqi occupation. The goal of the work is to analyse why in the chosen case, i.e., during the Iraqi war and the crisis that followed later, the media was and is transforming the reality. The main tasks of the paper are: to ascertain whether and to what extent is the public opinion is important in the course of the political process and what significance it has on the political performance in the case of war / crisis; to explore the probable causes of the reality transformation in the media and which of them are most likely in case of war; to find out whether the ‘hidden’ intentions, which are being aired by politicians, are justified...
