Se analizaron aspectos que se deben considerar para la óptima organización de congresos a nivel mundial y su aplicación en Lima Metropolitana. Con la finalidad de compartir información a los profesionales del sector. La metodología utilizada fue la revisión de fuentes bibliográficas relacionados a la temática de investigación. Se identificó que un congreso se caracteriza por su duración y finalidad. Este evento, involucra la participación de una asociación y una agencia especializada en organización de congresos. Asimismo, se analizó que las ciudades más desarrolladas y avanzadas que albergan grandes congresos, poseen diferencias a nivel de recursos, infraestructura y servicios, en comparación a Lima Metropolitana que posee deficiencias en su sistema de transporte, red de telecomunicaciones y capacidad de la oferta hotelera. Se determinó la secuencia adecuada y el cumplimiento de los pasos en cada etapa de la organización de un congreso. Esta investigación resulta útil y relevante para los organizadores de eventos quienes podrían tener un mejor desempeño en su labor. Es fundamental para las entidades reconocer y realizar las mejoras necesarias en Lima Metropolitana para que en un futuro pueda captar una mayor cantidad de congresos. En la misma línea, resulta novedoso ya que no existe ninguna guía que explique de manera detallada la planificación de un congreso en la ciudad de Lima Metropolitana considerando los recursos que posee actualmente esta ciudad. Se concluyó que la organización de congresos trae consigo múltiples beneficios como un mayor ingreso económico para la ciudad y la creación de empleo en el sector. / For this investigation we have analyse the aspects that must be consider when organizing congress worldwide and particularly in Lima. The methodology used for this investigation was based on researching different information related to the topic. In addition, we identify that the big characteristic of a congress is the duration of the event and their purpose. In fact, a congress involves the participation of the association which is the one looking to get it happen while the agency is the specialized on making it happen. Furthermore, we researched about the countries that develop congress in a big scale and compare them and their resources with Lima, demonstrating that Lima has issues with the transportation system, communications, and the hotel capability. On the other hand, we have determined the necessary steps to follow in each phase when organizing a congress. Finally, this investigation is useful and relevant for congress organizers because they will have a better development on their labour and also is important for different entities to recognize and improve the deficiencies Lima have, in this way they can start developing more congress. This investigation is innovative because there is not any other guide that explains in detail the process of making a congress in Lima taking in consideration the resources it has. For the end, we conclude that organizing a congress include multiple benefits such as an economic increase on the income for Lima, and creation of job opportunities in the industry. / Trabajo de investigación
