revisión de normas relacionadas a buenas prácticas de Gobierno Corporativo en las
organizaciones en los últimos años. Por tal razón, organismos internacionales vienen
reformulando e impulsando lineamientos con el propósito de conseguir transparencia de la
información e implementar medidas preventivas que contribuyan al desempeño positivo en
las organizaciones. En Latinoamérica, en el año 2004 iniciaron Mesas Redondas Regionales,
impulsando iniciativas al tema, y en el año 2013 la Corporación Andina de Fomento [CAF],
impulsó la implementación de prácticas de buen Gobierno Corporativo con la publicación de
Lineamientos para un Código Latinoamericano de Gobierno Corporativo.
El Gobierno Corporativo en el sector aéreo en Latinoamérica, no es ajeno y monitorea
la forma en la que empresa está organizada y gestionada para garantizar buenos desempeños,
sin embargo no se evidenciaron estudios previos al respecto, por tal motivo esta investigación
es el primer intento por describir la posible relación entre el cumplimiento de buenas
prácticas de Gobierno Corporativo y el desempeño financiero en empresas del sector aéreo en
Latinoamérica.
La investigación se efectuó bajo un enfoque cuantitativo, de alcance descriptivo y
diseño de investigación no experimental transversal de tipo descriptivo. Se estudió una
muestra de cuatro líneas aéreas Latinoamericanas de un total de 16 y se eligió como periodo
de análisis el año 2015. Se utilizaron los lineamientos detallados en el Código
Latinoamericano de Gobierno Corporativo y en cuanto al desempeño financiero, se
consideraron los indicadores financieros ROA, ROE y QTobin. Finalmente, el resultado de la
investigación sugirió la posible existencia de una relación positiva entre el seguimiento de
buenas prácticas Gobierno Corporativo y el desempeño financiero en aerolíneas
latinoamericanas en el año 2015 / The repeated global financial scandals brought with them the revision of standards
related to good corporate governance practices in organizations in recent years. For this
reason, international organizations have been reformulating and promoting guidelines for the
purpose of achieving transparency of information and implementing preventive measures that
contribute to positive performance in organizations. In Latin America, in 2004, Regional
Round Tables were launched, promoting initiatives on the subject, and in 2013 the Andean
Development Corporation [CAF] promoted the implementation of Good Corporate
Governance practices with the publication of Guidelines for a Latin American Code of
Corporate governance.
Corporate Governance in the aviation sector in Latin America is not foreign and
monitors the way in which the company is organized and managed to guarantee good
performance, however no previous studies were evidenced in this respect, for this reason this
investigation is the first attempt by To describe the possible relationship between compliance
with Good Corporate Governance practices and financial performance in airlines in Latin
America.
The research was carried out under a quantitative approach, with descriptive scope
and non - experimental transverse research design of descriptive type. A sample of four Latin
American airlines from a total of 16 was studied and the year of analysis was chosen as the
year 2015. The guidelines detailed in the Latin American Corporate Governance Code were
used and in terms of financial performance, the ROA financial indicators, ROE and QTobin.
Finally, the result of the research suggested the possible existence of a positive relationship
between the follow-up of Good Corporate Governance practices and the financial
performance in Latin American airlines in 2015 / Tesis
