El procés de materialització -pensar i fer- de la maison Prouvé, presenta moltes contradiccions i incoherències si s’analitza només des del punt de vista del projecte arquitectònic. Cal introduir un altre enfocament crític, que té el seu origen en la formació de serraller de Jean Prouvé, la seva producció dins de tallers, i la passió per la invenció constant, que porten a unes prioritats diferents de les de molts dels seus col·laboradors en aquest projecte, amb formació universitària d’arquitecte.
Aquestes dues maneres de pensar són incorporades a la gestació d’aquesta casa gràcies a la lògica inclusiva de Jean Prouvé, i la sinèrgia pròpia del pensament tècnic. Aquestes dues maneres de fer conviuen en el nostre objecte d’estudi, tot i que en alguns moments es separen, apareixen tensions i buits entre elles. És en aquests moments quan es pensà, construí i habità la maison Prouvé.
El nostre objecte d’estudi és alhora projecte i invent, construcció i assemblatge, casa i aixopluc. / When analyzed solely from an architect's point of view, the maison Prouvé design and building process is full of contradictions and incoherencies. A new critical approach is needed. One that has its origin on Jean Prouvé's education as a ferronnier, the production conditions at his workshops and his passion for constant invention, which lead to a totally different scope of priorities than some of his collaborators in this project, who had studied architecture at the university. Prouve's inclusive mentality, and the synergy of his technical thought, helps these two ways of thinking and making come together in this house. In such moments of tension, void and synthesis between these two worlds, the maison Prouvé was thought, built and dwelt.
This house is at the same time a project and an invention, a construction and an assembly, a house and a shelter.
