Catalunya i el País Valencià són dos territoris històrica, cultural i geogràficament units. Ambdues zones van ser assetjades per l’exèrcit de Felip V de Borbó durant la Guerra de Successió dels anys 1714 i 1707, quedant així despullades d’institucions i lleis pròpies. Les vies de reconstrucció identitària, però, s’han viscut de forma diferent en cadascuna d’elles. Això va manifestar-se més marcadament durant l’època de transició democràtica espanyola que emergia a tot l’Estat arran la mort del dictador Francisco Franco l’any 1975. Els periòdics d’informació generalista autòctons van fer-se ressò dels esdeveniments i van esdevenir d’una importància essencial en el mateix marc constructiu. L’instrument d’intervenció més eficaç dels diaris són les peces informatives (editorials i articles d’opinió), per tant, la nostra recerca s’assentarà sobre l’anàlisi del discurs de diversos casos d’opinió dels periòdics Avui, La Vanguardia, Levante-EMV i Las Provincias amb l’objectiu d’estudiar la seva contribució als processos de reconstrucció identitària nacional d’ambdós territoris. / Catalonia and the Valencian Country are two territories historically, culturally and geographically united. Both territories were besieged by the army of Philip V of Spain during the War of the Spanish Succession between 1714 and 1707. As a consequence, both territories were divested of their own institutions and laws. However, their identity has been rebuilt in different ways in each territory. This was even more apparent during the Spanish transition to democracy, that emerged all over the State after the dictator Francisco Franco’s death, in 1975. Local newspapers of general information covered the events and became essential in the construction processes of these regions. Opinion-based editorials and articles were important intervention tools in newspapers. For that reason, our research will focus on the discourse analysis of different cases of opinion of some newspapers such asAvui La Vanguardia, Levante-EMV and Las Provincias. The main pourpose of this project is to study the named newspapers’ contribution to the identity rebuilding processes in both national territories.
