Trinta coelhos compuseram a pesquisa, sendo dez constituindo um grupo controle (GC). Os demais, submetidos à uveíte experimental por paracentese, foram subdivididos em grupo uveíte tratado (GUT) e grupo uveíte não tratado (GUNT). O grupo GC recebeu 0,2 mL de lidocaína 1%, sem conservantes, por via intracameral. Animais do GUT e do GUNT receberam 0,2 mL de lidocaína 1%, sem conservantes, e de solução fisiológica (NaCl 0,9%), respectivamente, doze horas após a indução da uveíte, pela mesma via e com iguais critérios. Realizou-se a avaliação do diâmetro pupilar (DP), por paquimetria, nos seguintes momentos: basal (DP0'), até o 10° minuto; a cada minuto, até o 30° minuto; a cada 5 minutos; e até o 60° minuto, a cada 10 minutos. Procedeu-se à análise clínica, que compreendeu a avaliação da hiperemia conjuntival, da quemose e do edema da córnea. A pressão intraocular (PIO) foi avaliada empregando-se tonômetro de aplanação. Procederam-se análises quantitativas do "flare" do aquoso à flaremetria a "laser". A hexagonalidade, a densidade celular, a área celular, o coeficiente de variação e a espessura da córnea foram avaliados à microscopia especular de não contato. As avaliações ocorreram no momento basal (M0) em todos os grupos, 12 horas após a indução da uveíte nos grupos GUT e GUNT (M1), 1 hora (M2), 12 horas (M3) e 24 horas (M4) após a injeção intracameral, em todos os grupos. Alíquotas de humor aquoso foram avaliadas quanto ao pH e quantitativo de proteínas. Diferenças foram consideradas significativas quando p≤0,05. Quanto ao diâmetro pupilar, houve diferença (p≤0,05) em todos os momentos, entre o GC e os demais grupos (GUT e GUNT), sendo maior no GC, seguido pelo GUT e pelo GUNT. Quanto a PIO, todos os grupos apresentaram diferenças entre o M0 e os demais momentos (p≤0,05), sendo maior em M0 / Abstract: We studied the effects of preservative-free 1% lidocaine on parameters of uveitis. Thirty rabbits comprised the study, ten forming a control group (CG). The others, with experimental uveitis, were divided into uveitis treated group (UTG) and uveitis non-treated group (UNTG). CG group received 0.2 mL of preservative-free 1% lidocaine, via intracameral route. UTG and UNTG animals received 0.2 mL of preservative-free 1% lidocaine and 0.2 mL of saline (NaCl 0.9%), respectively, twelve hours after the induction of uveitis, via the same route and with the same criteria. The assessment of pupil diameter (PD) was made by pachymetry, at the following times: baseline (PD0') until the 10th minute; every minute, until the 30th minute; every 5 minutes, and up to 60 minutes, every 10 minutes. We conducted a clinical examination, which included the evaluation of the conjunctival hyperemia, chemosis and edema of the cornea. Intraocular pressure (IOP) was measured by applanation tonometry. We conducted quantitative analyses of the "flare" of the aqueous with a laser flarimetry. The hexagonality, cell density, cell area, coefficient of variation and corneal thickness were evaluated in a non-contact specular microscope. Assessments occurred at baseline (M0) in all groups, 12 hours after induction of uveitis in groups UTG and UNTG (M1), 1 hour (M2), 12 hours (M3) and 24 hours (M4) after intracameral injection in all groups. Aliquots of aqueous humor were evaluated for pH and for the quantification of proteins. Differences were considered significant when p ≤ 0.05.
