Efter pesten : om återhämtningen efter pestepidemin på 1710-talet i Skåne / After the plague : On the recovery after the plaguearound 1710 in the Swedish province of Scania

From 1710 to 1713 the plague raged through the Swedish province of Scania. Other studies have been made on how the disease affected the society during the epidemic. This study tries to focus on the recovery afterwards. How did the population and the farmsteads recover after the plague? Statistics from parish registers and cameral records show interesting patterns in the demography, and that the recovery was far from complete 1720. However, due to missing registers and records, many details remain unaccessible for the researcher. An attempt is also made to describe the demographic structure around the years of plague with a simple mathematical model. The model rather successfully mimics the demographic structure, but due to the missing registers and records, there are too many free parameters in the model; consequently the model can not be used to draw any serious conclusions.
