Det finns globalt sett många olika praxis, lagregleringar, aktörer och traditioner som påverkar hur överlåtelser och beskattning hanteras rörande ägarlägenheter. Ett sätt att bidra till att försöka identifiera brister och uppmuntra till best practice är genom jämförande studier. I denna kandidatuppsats görs en jämförelse mellan Sverige och Florida i detta avseende där det svenska systemet beskrivs i uppsatsen och används som spegling av motsvarande system i Florida som utforskas utifrån uppsatsens valda metod och med utgångspunkt från frågeställningarna: Hur fungerar överlåtelseprocessen av ägarlägenheter i Florida, vilka olika steg måste köparen genomgå för att processen ska slutföras, vad kostar överlåtelseprocessen i Florida och hur lång tid tar den, samt vilka likheter och skillnader har processen i Florida jämfört med motsvarande svenska process? För att besvara frågeställningarna genomfördes litteraturstudie i kombination med intervjuer med olika aktörer. Studie av ett konkret exempel på en överlåtelse i Volusia County, Florida kompletterade det övriga metodvalet. / Globally there are many different practices, legal regulations, actors and traditions that affect how transfers and taxation are handled regarding condominiums. One way to try to help identify deficiencies and promote best practice is through comparative studies. In this bachelor’s thesis a comparison is made between Sweden and Florida in this respect where the Swedish system is described in the thesis and used as a reflection of the corresponding system in Florida which is explored based on the thesis’ chosen method and based on the questions: How does the transfer process of condominiums in Florida operate, what different steps does the buyer have to go through to complete the process, how much does the transfer process cost approximately in Florida and how long does it take, and what similarities and differences does the process in Florida have compared to the Swedish system? To answer the questions, a literature study was conducted in combination with interviews with various actors. A study of a real case of property transfer in Volusia County, Florida complemented the choice of method.
