John Hedberg och välgörenheten : En maktkamp på liv och död i barmhärtighetens tjänst / John Hedberg and the charity : A life and death power struggle in the service of mercy

Social care is something that has been subject for debate both in historical times as in the present day. This thesis study the power struggle between the social care organized by the government versus the private charity by doing a case study about John Hedberg, a baptist preacher subject for much debate in public media around the start of the 20th century. This period in history was a time of change, especially when it came to politics revolving around social welfare, which was a subject that would bring about some conflicts. It will follow the debate and then analyze it by using Bourdieu’s theories about symbolic capital.
