”Ibland undrar man om det är någon idé att röra upp himmel eller helvete för att de är lite dyngiga här och där” : En kvalitativ studie om samverkan mellan förskola och socialtjänst / ”Sometimes you wonder if it’s worth turning heaven and hell upside down because they have a bit dirt here and there” : A qualitative study on collaboration between preschools and the Child Protective Agency

The purpose of this study is to, from the preschool teachers’ point of view, deepen the knowledge about influential factors regarding a mandatory report from preschools to the Child Protective Agency (CPA) when suspecting child maltreatment and feeling uneasiness regarding the child. The purpose is also to furthermore investigate collaboration between preschools and the CPA in Hagfors municipality. The study has the following questions: How do preschools teachers handle their suspicions and uneasiness about a child being maltreated? Which factors can be influential on whether or not the suspicions are reported to the CPA? Which experiences do preschool teachers have of collaboration with the CPA? The study is based on qualitative methods in the formof individual interviews. The interviewees consisted of four preschool teachers employed at preschools in Hagfors municipality.   The study shows that preschool teachers believe that the numbers of preschool children who are maltreated are larger than the number of reports to the CPA. Many factors interrelate when preschool teachers suspect child maltreatment and consider whether or not making a report to the CPA. When making a report to the CPA the preschool teachers often feel insecure and lacking of knowledge combined with other influences such as emotions and relations. One influential factor that could contribute to the preschool teachers making a report when they suspect child maltreatment is if the collaboration between preschools and the CPA was improved. The preschool teachers view on collaboration with CPA is that it rarely occurs and, when it does occur, it works imperfectly.   The results are analyzed through theorie on emotions, collaboration and also system theory and role theory.   Keywords: Preschool, Child Protective Agency, child maltreatment, mandatory report, collaboration.
