Barn i kristna församlingar : - Barn i kristna församlingar - en kvalitativ studie av arbetet med barns religionsfrihet i Sverige / Children In Christian Congregations : - Children In Christisn Congregations - A Qualitative Study Of The Work With Children´s Religious Freedom In Sweden

Abstract The purpose of this study is to examine children in Christian congregations and the work around the concept of religious freedom. In the implementation of this study, a theory by Maria Klasson Sundin is used. The theory is based on a three-part model where she explains children's freedom of religion: 1. The traditional model, 2. The freedom of thought model and 3. The life interpretation model. The study is qualitative with an observative method called “site visit”. The main material used in this study is the visits to three different congregations. Christian congregations, as well as the results that arose from the site visits but also thec onversations that took place. The issue presented in this study is about children and how they get involved in religion without any deeper understanding of the phenomenon and their rights connected to religion. The result of this study is that the greater work around the concept of religious freedom does not occur in Christian congregations. The consequence is more than one, but one of the bigger consequences is that the school seems to have a greater responsibility for the work around it. Keywords:Religion, children, congregations and religious freedom.
