Författarens mål är att belysa de olika typer av brandskydd och metoder som finns i skolbyggnader för att förhindra och begränsa skadeverkan av anlagda bränder. Årligen anläggs mer än 10 000 bränder i Sverige vilket gör anlagda bränder i byggnader till ett stort samhällsproblem i landet. Problemet med anlagd brand är speciellt stort för skolbyggnader, där cirka hälften av alla bränder är anlagda. För att kunna förstå hur brandskydd fungerar så förklaras vad som krävas för att en brand ska starta och hur dess spridning kan gå till. Samt var, när och hur anlagda bränder i skolbyggnader skapas och om hur iden kommer till att anlägga en brand i skolbyggander. De olika brandskydden som identifierades i skolbyggnader delas i denna beskrivning upp i tre stycken kategorier av brandskydd med olika tekniska lösningar inom dessa kategorier. Den första i kategorin som beskrivs är detektionssystem, ett brandskydd som är till för att upptäcka bränder och varna människor. Nästa kategori är passiva system somär statiskt och förändras inte vid brand. De passiva systemen bygger på olika typer av konstruktionslösningar, förhindra att branden sprids vidare invändigt men även för att branden inte ska fåfäste i byggnaden vid en utvändig brand samt förebygga mot anlagda bränder. Den sista i kategorin är aktiva system som är till för att aktivt försöka begränsa och fördröja branden och i bästa fall släcka den, vilket skapar mer tid för utrymmning. I diskussionen resonerar författaren runt det brandskydd som skulle vara bäst att användas sig av där det vanligast anläggs bränder i skolbyggnaderna. Eftersom att det skiljer sig mellan de anlagda bränderna i skolor och förskolor sådelas dessa tvåupp och diskuteras var för sig. I skolbyggander nämns aktiva- och dektektions system som lösningar vid ett redan befintligt passivit system. När det kommer till förskole byggnader föreslås bättre passivt brandskydd samt ett detektions system. / The writer´s goal is to illustrate the different types of fire protection and metods there are in school buildings to prevent and restrict the damage of school arsons. There are annually over 10000 fires in Sweden who is caused by arsons, which makes it a major social problem. The problem with arson is more frequent in school buildings since almost 50 % of all fires are caused by arson. To understand how fire protection works an explanation is given regarding what is required for the fire spreads. It is also explained when, where and how the arsons in school buildings are created and how the idea of arson arises. In this description, the different types of fire protection system which has been identified in school buildings has been divided into to three different categories with different kind of technical solutions within these categories. The first category is the detection system, which function is to alarm people and to detect fires. Next category is passive system, which is static and do not change in case of a fire. The passive systems is based on various kinds of construction solutions which impedes the spread of fire and increases protection against arson. The last category is the active system, which is designed to actively try to limit and delay the fire and, at best, put it out. That creates more time for the evacuation. In the discussing, the author reasons around which fire protection system would be best to use for the common areas and places where arson in the school buildings are created. Since it´s differs between where the arson in schools and preschools are created there divided and discussed separately. In school buildings is active and detection system mentioned as an solution to assist an already functioning passiv system.When it comes to pre-school buildings a good passive system is proposed as well as a detection system.
